Hello all,

Im wondering how Balaadi Avasthas and Jagradadi Avasthas affect the Atmakaraka?

Since the AK is frequently in a higher degree of a Rasi, wouldn’t that make the AK almost always either in Mrita or Bala?

My AK is Saturn in 5th House at 29 degrees Aquarius. So it’s Mrita and Jagrat.

Does that point towards my souls being a really old wise man with a shrewd practical intelligence for the greater good of the common man? Or does it being Mrita make it a shitty useless AK?

This question has been raised before on the forum. It's indeed very common for the AK for be either Mrita or Bala, etc... If I recall correctly, Ernst mentioned that our AK is meant to challenge us on some level and those states would reflect that. But I may have misinterpreted that.

I've noticed on some very successful people's charts a lot of Mrita planets so I don't think the planet becomes useless. But, it could be that, during certain "sub" dasa, that planet represents more or less of a challenge due  to the Balaadi avastha. From Ernst, a little while ago:

There was a time I tried to adjust the Lajjitaadi influence based on the Jagrad and balaadi avashtas. However, I now dont think that is correct. I never mix those three avashtas into one soup AT THE SAME TIME. what i do, is i give differnet Avasthas differnet importance depending on the dasa level. Shayanaadi to maha dasa, Lajjitaadi to Antar Dasa, Deeptaadi for pratyantar, Jagrad for sookshma and balaadi for Prana Dasa. That is how i am experimenting with it currently.

I think it's still an area of study.

Those avasthas are not relevant to what we determine from AK. so just ignore them in that context .

Thanks guys!

Makes sense. I guess they are different lenses for looking at things.

Is there a particular course that goes into what these are all specifically used for?
