Starved or Thirsty Moon?

I am looking at the chart of a fellow, with Moon conjunct Saturn in Scorpio 3rd house. With the rule being "thirsty" if starved in water sign, it is safe to assume it is only thirsty (lighter than full starvation).  He is in his mid - 60's so perhaps has worked through much of the trauma described in the Moon starved by Saturn lesson. Would EX Jupiter conjunct Ketu and Lord Mars in Aries (in the 8th) also help the native work through childhood trauma's?  

Maybe a symptom of this; he has said, if he gets angry or has to deal with extreme conflict it has made him physically ill with digestive disturbances. A manifestation of the Moon/Saturn conjunction?
