I wanted to clarify what qualifies as a conjunction. Is it only planets that share the same sign? Or is it also planets that share the same house?

For example:

  • Saturn 1st house – Capricorn
  • Rahu 1st house – Aquarius
  • Moon 1st house – Aquarius

In this case, would all three be considered to have a conjunction? Or just Rahu and Moon?

Thank You!

Great thanks!

I saw in Avastha 32 video Saturn was shaming my Moon with this combo (when all 3 in same house - regardless of the sign) wasn't sure if was a rare exception or common pattern with other avasthas to also focus on the effects planets have on each other when in same house, and not just the same sign.

@lisaclaire we use whole sign for houses in Jyotish. Campanus is the house system that I use. Are you using Kala or another program to see your chart?

@lisaclaire then I’m confused about what you’re referring to. If you’d like to post a pic of it then it could help make sense of it. But, in general, we look at the whole sign and any Bhava cusps in those signs.

@suzanstars I am very new to vedic astrology and could be reading it wrong. Here is screenshot of those 3 planets in the chart attached

@lisaclaire interesting. Thank you for posting that so now I can make sense of it. It’s a same lord conjunction, but because it’s not the same sign, it’s a secondary influence. Let me ask you a question, do you resonate with having a shamed moon? If you do, then go ahead and tackle it. Otherwise, focus on any Avasthas that are of a primary focus instead of the same lord conjunction. In general, same lord conjunctions are good to look at because we may miss something otherwise important if we don’t look at it.

@suzanstars Thanks that's helpful.

I very much resonate with the longing to find my sense of home in the world. And learning to live as myself is something I’m really working on – fixing my inner compass and learning how to trust that.

So in any case does seems like an important place to start.

@lisaclaire As was previous stated, same lord might cause the experience of "shame".  The Rahu/Moon conjunction is a "hungry" moon which might explain your feelings.

"I very much resonate with the longing to find my sense of home in the world"

I am familiar with a chart that is likely close in time to your own birth data.  I have attached the screen shot. In this chart both Mars and Sun are starving Saturn, (the lord of Moon in AQ) and as in both your chart and Mo/Ra conjunction. Yours in 2nd rasi which is important to childhood and family. Person in similar chart has some "distance" emotionally, locational and ideologically from her mother.  Due to the rahu in 7th and a Jupiter in cancer she is married to a foreigner to her country.

Since we don't see aspects to Saturn it is hard to nail down the "longing".  If Mars or Venus aspect Saturn it can help/hurt Saturn.

Just my thoughts.

My understand Conjunction is same sign but what u have is same lord conjunction between capricorn n acquarius. U have conjunction in acquarius rahu moon

but how can u have the 1st house in both capricorn n acquarius? Am i missing something?

ernst do u apply same lord conjunction when u interpret a chart? As i recall u use the same lord conjunction in the Yoga Judgement course but not any where else…is same lord conjunction as strong as traditional conjunction?

thx!

@tuyetv I was confused by the two signs in the same house also.

Curious how @ernst would interpret this with having the same ruler or if would be less primary in this case. I attached a screen shot to give better idea what I'm looking at too.

Is also a lot going on in the 7th house across two different signs but they don't have the same lord.
