Hi,

If Rahu joins the Sun and Mercury in one house, Mercury is, per Avashta explanation, shamed (by the Sun plus Rahu?). In the Drishti table I see 60 points in red next to 60 points in green for Mercury coming from the Sun. But in the course I learned that twice the number 60 in red next to each other means shame. Is this example still a shamed planet even if the table does not show twice the red "60" ?

Thank you!

Tamara

My understanding the general rule for shame is a planet with a malefic and Rahu or Ketu in any  houses except for the 5th. For the 5th you don't need a node for it to be shamed if it is with a malefic planet. Folks, correct me if I am wrong here....What house is this and is your Mercury retrograde?

@tuyetv As I understood, A Graha that is joined with Sun, Mars or Saturn in the 5th OR a Graha joined with Sun, Mars or Saturn AND Rahu or Ketu in any other house- hope I am right!

I have Sun, Mercury and Rahu in the 10th in Scorpio. So my Mercury is shamed. This happens quite often as I understood. Because Sun is oftentimes conjunct Mercury.

@tamarap Yes, that is my understand as well. The reason i asked about retrograde is if the planet let's say Mercury is with the Sun and a node (Ketu or Rahu), but if Mercury is retrograde, then my understanding Mercury is not shamed...

@tamarap You know that is interesting as I would like Ernst to confirm this too. I have Mars Mercury Sun and Ketu. Mercury is closer to the Sun but retrograde. So Mercury is not combust. Mars is combust and shamed....

@tuyetv retrograde planets follow the same rules as other planets in lajjitadi avasthas. So a retro mercury is still going to shamed if it's with a node and  a cruel planet. Maybe you're thinking about combustion? In ernst's system retro mercury and venus are never combust.

Sun is a friend to mercury so it gives green for that and then it gives red for the same and agitation. We can't fit three numbers in the space so for this conjunction the red is  both the shame and agitation.
