Dear @ernst

If we accept that whatever we are and what happens in our lives, is the manifestation of our own psychology and consciousness then Jyotish is the ability to see how ones psychology and consciousness is structured and how it will manifest outside, as well as a way to help us grow our intuitions on whats going on within.

We may also conclude that the most powerful  way or Jyotish remedy to truly improve our selves and our lives (our charts) is to look deep within, see and understand our psychological problems and try to resolve them, which will in return change how we are manifesting ourselves and our lives.

As you have mentioned before and Yagananda says, by improving our psychology we are actually walking the path of spirituality and improving our consciousness.

Taking more of your courses and reading some of your recent posts regarding on improving some problematic combinations by working on the avashtas of the planets and of Ra/Ke Lords, it seems that the key to understanding our psychology and false ego identifications and starting to improve things from within, is the Lajjitaadi Avashtas.

Probably this is why you say the single most important Jyotish technique is understanding the Lajjitaadi Avashtas.

Is this correct?

Hi Ramin,

My understanding is that the reason Ernst likes to focus on the Lajitaadi Avasthas and regards healing them as such a powerful tool is a different one.

In a few videos he relates different parts of our charts to different elements. The Lajitaadi Avasthas relate to the air element and are thus the only thing we can change in our charts. Other things (Jaimini techniques) are what will manifest concretely in our lives and can thus be predicted. Will we get a job? Will we marry? If so, when? But none of things can be changed anyway, so Ernst has said something to the effect "What's the point in predicting that anyway?". Also, someone might finally meet that person they so longed for, but the way they relate to the thing that manifests concretely (Lajitaadi Avasthas = habits) still needs so much healing that they "mess it up". So rather than focusing on the prediction, I think his point is to focus on healing those negative habits, so you're ready for things when they come.

@ernst Change is like literally the hardest thing. Is it the outer planets that you have mentioned that totally help with our inner shifts, or is it dependent on us 100%?

Dear @codydeboer

I have to agree with you about change. I've seen psychotherapists working and explaining things that are actually bad avashtas of a planet in ones chart for years with No results.

Makes me wonder if there are combinations that show us if we could actually improve a planets Avashta.

I have personally seen when the Lord of a planet with a problematic avashta is in a good avashta, own sign, exultation helps a lot if there are tendencies of growth in the chart (good Swamsha and 12th from it, Powerful positive house lords for the lagna, ..) but @ernst should confirm.

@ramin Yup my Jupiter is starved, but also in its own sign/house, so that should help.

@codydeboer The outer planets indicate the time of greatest growth with these things. However, different people make very different degrees of progress with the same outer planet transit. So just how much a person can do with an outer planet depends on their consciousness. Its shocking to me actually to see how little growth some people make with an outer planet transit.

I always feel unrelatable when I talk about God, or like maybe no one wants to hear it, but we don't have to do the arduous work of trying to change ourselves alone and without help. The ultimate resource is on standby, waiting for your call. Pursue a sincere relationship with the Divine in whatever form you choose and see how many issues resolve/dissolve over time. I mean, we're in here talking about freeing ourselves from planetary influences, how the hell else are we suppose to do that without uniting ourselves with the Sun of all Suns?

The majority of my problems came from being lovesick and needy. This made me perfect for bhakti, but I know it doesn't call to everyone. I hope everyone finds something that works for them.

Yes, change is hard. If there are good avasthas in the chart, those are what helps us make change of the bad avasthas. Even if the good avastha planets are not the same or have nothing to do with the bad avastha planets. If there are enough good avasthas on the bad avastha planets, then a person will find their way towards change all by themselves. BUt anyone can make the changes once they learn about the right habits, when there are no good avasthas on a planet, its pretty much impossible to learn a right habit just on auto pilot, thats why we need the astrology, to inform us about the planets that are not going to just fix themselves, we need to realize what needs to be done by looking at our charts or through some other deep introspective method.

The lajjatadi avashtas are so profound—nothing short of a light source in a dark room. I perceive incredible potential in charts, complicated by subconscious habits .

Question… have you ever applied the avashtas to the divisional charts? I perceive application in understanding the deeper subconscious patterns… curious on your thoughts!
