hi Ernst, friends,

i am finding myself going back trying to grasp the proper understanding of the behavioral  expression of Saturn in different positions in the chart and carrying different values.

when Saturn has insufficient shadbala or in-fact even really low, does that expresses in a persons life (a person experience) as less restriction, less stress, less lack ,less insecurity, less attachment as well as, less need for perseverance , with what ever Saturn influence and rules in respect of the rasi chart (compare to obviously sufficient shadbala Saturn; all things equal)?

if yes does that mean that even in its worse case scenario in which Saturn is in a DEB DIGNITY with very low shadbala a person can practically feel stress in a level which IS equal to someone with HIGH shadbala  Saturn in "good"  relatively dignity ?  OR does THAT mean that a person with very low shadbala (insufficient) will feel stress in an actually magnified way then the situation really is and the slightest stress can be felt intensely even in its exalted dignity?

is the value of Saturn effect (on what he is influencing)which based on his shadbala and dignity (in the rasi)  is the concrete amount of stress "neto" being put where Saturn influencing?  meaning mathematically as the bellow example shows , will those different scenarios be experienced as the same amount of concrete stress ?

hypothetical SHADBALA VALUES :156(ve) DEB SA / 100%=156 verupa(negative)   ||||   F 520(ve) SA/ 40%=156 verupa(negative)      is this going to behave the same in its expression in the different appearance in the rasi chart with regard to stress level(all things equal) ?

ryan kurczak discusses saturn quite a bit, a lot of really valuable insight to saturn can be found via ryan's free content.

(the sade sati course, which i have listened to many times, my favorites are the ones about saturns myths.) https://ashevillevedicastrology.wordpress.com/asheville-vedic-astrology-academy/understanding-saturn-returns-and-sade-sati/

potentially relevant youtube video:

to my understanding, the methods of evaluating a planets are best used in accordance with whatever is being weighed. a planet strong in one area may be weak in another, a planet weak in one area may be strong in another. like some food is delicious but not nutritious, and some food is nutritious but not delicious....but i may just be hungry.

there are some threads on this forum with inquiries regarding the layering of different avasthas, but to my knowledge the answer is consistently (in more or less words) "this topic is still in development and there are no clear guidelines to follow via historical texts at this point in time. extensive data and testing is required before any claims can be made."

sorry i dont have a clear answer, hope some of this helps.

thank you but the answer in that reference is not really covering what i am asking, i am asking about Saturn specifically and i am rather focusing on the expression of that saturn shadbala based on experiencing it through practice not theory. i am merely want to grasp what is the flavor of it, through experience of judging charts of people with respect to their concert reality.

I have Saturn low in shadbala and with negative Lajjitaadi Avastha score brings it down even further to 70%.  Saturn is in Neutral dignity but with Rahu and Sun so is quite challenged.  I have experienced MORE restriction, stress, lacks, insecurities, and difficulty with perseverance due to this placement.  So I would say Saturn low in shadbala does not have the power to give it's indications reliably and in my case fails 30% of the time.

There are charts of famous people with SA low in shadbala and DB but usually those people have strong named yogas and Yoga karakas and in these cases saturn is unable to cause delays, restrictions and limitations.  So it's a little tricky and you have to look at the chart as a whole.

It has taken me a long time (Saturn matures at 36) to be willing to listen and work with Saturn.  From what I’ve seen the key is to be willing to look at one’s weaknesses and shortcomings and then work with limitations to go beyond limitation and accept the karmic retributions that occur that one does not have control over, namely losses of cherished people, things & situations.  Like Ernst mentions Sun, Mars and Jupiter help out tremendously, with Sun conj Rahu it's not the best support but Jupiter is alright and philosophy, belief and discovery of truth have functioned to produce enough stability to keep going and produce some positive results.
