lol Im surprised @ernst never smoked weed, seeing as he used to do BMX, where I grew up, the BMX track was where everyone smoked lol.

@sara1

I have tons of experience with plant medicines from a very young age. I think mushrooms are a fantastic teacher. I think that the method you are going about is a good idea, really small doses first, and work your way up to a large one. The difference of dose with mushrooms has quite a profound effect, as large doses can be earth shattering and life altering.

100mg is a great way to get accustomed to the vibe of the mushroom, I would start with that. Go 250mg next time, and then 500mg. 500mg with a nice mushroom is perfect, it gives you a great euphoria, taps you into your inner strength, confidence, and shows you how to really enjoy life etc...

The first 45 mins when the mushrooms come on are uncomfortable, not anxiety provoking like weed, just uncomfortable "i am shifting realities now" type of a feeling. Past that point when you hit the peak, it feels incredible, smooth, wonderful. No need to sit in meditation, do things you enjoy!

The large doses (2-3g+) are something totally different. It can give the body more energy than it can handle. It can reset the brain. Even if you have a "bad" or "nightmarish" experience on a large dose, afterwards you can feel incredible for quite some time. If you are in a good vibe it can simply amaze you. I wouldn't go into mushrooms looking to do shadow work intentionally, mushrooms are meant for enjoyment, that's where their healing is. I think peyote is much better for healing the psyche in an emotional release type of way.

It can be difficult to fall asleep, so its better to eat them earlier in the day. If you are not having a good time and want it to be over, alcohol curbs the effects and can help you sleep. Weed on the other hand increases the effects of mushrooms.

mushrooms are truly magical, I would take 500mg once a week for 6-7 months straight and it helped me tremendously.

I did Psilocybin twice. Both in darkness and silence and made a very strong intention/prayer before hand. I forget how much I ingested. I told my parents at the time that I will be in my bedroom doing this and don't come in...But being a very sensitive person in general, the two psilocybin encounters were life changing experiences. Basically near death experiences is what I would call them. I believe the reason why they changed me permanently was because of my sincerity to the experience and not to just 'have fun' and get high. This was in my Me/Ra period.

@scott-m-19 Its interesting, I guess the mushrooms teach us all something different. When I was working with them for those 7 months, often I would come in with a sincere intention of healing, but they kept teaching me how to have fun, which was something I had lost before hand, and I found to be very healing. They showed me how joy and enjoyment is no less important than anything else, and that's what they continually wanted me to do, was enjoy. They took me from being alone in my room trying to heal, to out into the world having fun.

@codydeboer hey! Thank you for this advice it’s actually really useful. It’s coming from Holland and there’s been some delay so I’m still waiting on them to arrive, but It’s good to read about your positive experience. I don’t think I’m ready for something like peyote yet though lol.

Surprised you never got into mountain biking with all those planets in Aries and that you live in a good mountain biking area.

@scott-m-19 I have mountain bikes but I generally prefer to run trails versus riding them. I run barefoot and its more fun for me to skip around on rocks and jump over cactus than it is to roll around things on the mountain bike.

@mitryendra80 Its a real danger in some areas, and I won't live in a high tick area. I have never seen a single tick in my woods. I am surrounded by prescott national forest and we have no history of lyme disease down here. Its more in california, washington, and north easy US wiht some in coloroda, idaho, north utah and montana. I will hike those areas, but I dont want to live in an area where i am hanging out with ticks on a constant basis.

@ernst Probably a good idea, but with your Sun placement and and your diet/exercise, I would think you would have a strong immune system.

Do you think homeopathy could help with tick-born diseases?

@mitryendra80 I have a saturn mars conjunction and that always impacts a person's immune system. THe reason i take care of myself is that i never had a good immune system. I was sick more as a kid than any other kid in the class each year.

@ernst Wow. That's a good point and thanks for reminding.

I actually remembered your Saturn-Mars conjunction after posting, but was thinking about it in terms of an over-active immune system.

I have a strong immune system but that is probably due to my Venus.

My own Sa-Ma conjunction has been more psychological and behavioral, except for seasonal allergies that I can now manage naturally much better.

Hi Sara!

How's your Moon doing?

I was curious on your thread simply because I've seen many people use that, alongside Ayahuasca, and did not see any improvement when it comes to a honest understanding of their subconscious. I have seen many believe that their wants and desires are actually messages from spirit guides...

Have you tried journaling and getting your dreams written?

I like using Ketu bija mantra for going in my subconscious (besides what I get i my dreams)- I write everything in a journal in my computer. I also like doing Yoga Nidra.

@carla-castilla Hey! I do journal and I’ve been working out, they both help with ‘moon’ things. I don’t think I would ever try Ayuhasca personally as that is a bit much for me, but I guess I’m just open to a new experience, and I’m generally interested in plant medicines, I’ve been seeing a homeopathic doctor, I use a lot of herbs in the home etc. I haven’t heard of Yoga Nidra, going to look that up now. thank you for checking in.

@sara1 @carla-castilla So glad you mentioned Yoga Nidra. Wanted to offer my favorite "entry-level" yoga nidra source: Supernova Yoga Nidra as a podcast

I have found this powerful for processing subconscious activity and also just deep rest during the last few years.
