Hello Mr. Wilhelm,

In the Ashtamangalam Number technique, I have a 3 digit number of 255.

This gives 0 remainder for the Elements and the Tithi.

1-) For the elements from 1 to 5 which one should be taken? I thought of 1-Ether, since 0 has 10 and therefore 1 relevances. Would taking 1-Ether be logical for a 0 remainder?

2-) For Tithis, again the remainder is 0. Which Paksha of the month would a 0 remainder be?

If there’s none, would it be logical to calculate the tithi according to the chart crested at the time of the question?

Hypothetical Extra question

3-) Had the remainder been 15, then which one would we take Purnima or Amavasya? (At the time of the question, the moon was waning, so maybe Amavasya?)

Thank you

Zumrut

Hi Zumrut, whenever the remainder is 0, you take the last one of the series because 0 remainder means the previous full set is the remainder, so that is 30th tithi, which is 15th tithi of the waning moon, Earth element.

    as the tithi is created by dividing by 30, the first 15 tithis are waxing, the last 15 are waning.

sorry for taking so long to see this, somehow I missed it coming in.

@ernst Dear Mr. Wilhelm,

Your reply is very helpful, especially you recommending to take the last of the series when zero remainder is there. Zero remainder is keep coming up for other calculations, so your general note is helping a lot.

No worries for a late reply, I thought if I merited a great answer then it will come and it did.
Thank you very much,

Zumrut
