Hello Ernst and everybody,

A friend comes asking for help in a crisis.
Saturn is transiting (exact degree) his Ketu in Pisces.
He is a Ketu in 8th Pisces and Rahu conjunct Saturn in Virgo. Yeah, pretty painful experiences with Rahu maturation.
He is 45.
I think it's positive the present transit of Saturn on his Ketu to help him go to Rahu.

After talking to him I am thinking that the (clinging to) of his Ketu in water is not just to one thing (as it could be to his partner, a hindrance in my opinion), but a tendency to cling to many things. Things that offer him some fantastic realm in an imaginary world. He does write wonderfully.
But as he tends to get short materially, despite being exceptional and super brilliant in his field, something must be wrong in how he approaches his material providing. So that it's not only his partner making him to get short in earning money.
I feel I have to help him in identifying his hidden need of Ketu in 8th and the nature of his jungle, which is not so easy.
I haven't seen all the videos of Healing Rahu and Ketu, but quite many. Is there a video with some explanation about the 5 or 6 main wounds?
Rejection, humiliation..., etc.
I think recognising the wound will help him to understand the hidden need of Ketu in Pisces, 8th, and where and what is his jungle?

As predicted in the course, at 42 he stoped smoking marijuana, but after some months he came back.

Who or what is he serving with his writing of field of occupation?  Perhaps there is some self-serving attitude that is interfering with getting in touch with Virgo.  Perhaps use Jupiter, once that is reliable then go into Me/Ra/Virgo.  When Saturn is with Rahu it's the most feared place, so we need quite a bit of foundation/strength/courage to go there.

@quasar259

Thanks, Quasar
I have to look well at him in regards to the self-serving attitude.
In fact this is the learning Rahu-Ketu maduration gives us.

Yes, I have some hope on his Jupiter in Leo in 1st.
His Sun can support the Rahu_Ketu transition from Gemini, 4-10 from the dragon.
Mercury, is in Taurus conjunct Venus but also Moon. Mars also joins them. 4 planets in 10th. Won't these powerful 10th eventually help his 2nd?

He works non-stop from morning till night. Stopping just to cook and to take the dog for a walk in the mountains where he lives. In nature he feels so good..., social settings are also fine, he is popular and open to talk nicely with everybody. But his refuge is nature.

Unfortunately his Akriti yoga is Danda (all planets in 4 signs from 10th) losses and disappointment instead of prosperity.

Uranus in Taurus, hitting now his Moon 26 and Mercury 28, and soon his Sun in 3º Gemini, may help a breakthrough.

He is a vocational teacher at University, in Humanities. But in Spain there are temporary contracts for teachers at University paying ridiculous salaries.
He also collaborates in many cultural projects and events. With artists, curators, institutions...
In fact he gets involved in many things, but how much he gets payed (?) and his eyes get sparks when he speaks about the beginning of some very fantastic unrealistic projects. There I was glimpsing if he gets entangled in projects that end nowhere materially instead of focusing on the ones which could provide the material foundation he really needs. There I could see he is not using the filter of Virgo in 2nd.

There is one peculiar thing. He doesn't drive. He uses the public transport or depends on his partner for the car. Isn't funny that living for 13 years in the countryside, he didn't engage in learning to drive a car?

@marianela I believe four or more planets in a house hurts that house.  So there is Mercury, Venus, Moon and Mars in Taurus.  Is Saturn in higher degree than Rahu?

@quasar259 I thought in the 10th it's ok to have 4 planets.

Saturn is lower 7º, Rahu 13º59

@marianela Kala Sarpa, caught by the serpent of time, restricted by results of previous karmas, life more fated, personal volition restricted.  Can still have accomplished life, but that's dependent on having good yogas that are not obstructed, in any case, more heavily fated life.  You can find a lengthy description of this Yoga in Ernst's Core Yogas manual, from the Core Yogas class.

Take a look past life indicators and D12 to see if you can locate where the restriction/negative karm is coming from. Ernst has written about ancestral karmas and D12 in Concrete Chart and Varga Analysis with Jaimini course.

@marianela You don't have to go through all of Jamini to get something out of the Chart and Varga course, the section in the manual about D12 will help.  Also you can analyze D12 with whatever tools you have.  Past life I also look at 8th and Ketu in D1 and those indication in D12.  you can look for continuation of karmic stream connecting D12 and D1 through the D9.  Also Saturn plays a big role in karmic retribution so look at what he's doing.

I have Saturn and Rahu in Virgo with other difficult placements so I can sympathize.  Jupiter for me has been a real saving grace.

Thanks so much Quasar,
It's the first time for me to even think of thinking about past lives.
And as the mere idea opens up in my mind, without any content yet, but already geometrics grids, spaces growing one out of the other in all directions...
I got a bit stunned with your message.

But I'll follow your indications and let's see if I arrive somewhere.
And the perspective of this new horizon makes me smile.
Thanks...

Ketu in the 8th is specially hard for men I think, since there is little social acceptance for not being sure about yourself economically, and you are not allowed to (nor by society, but especially your own masculine identity doesn´t allow you) to depend on a woman. It tends to create frustration that someone has to pay for. Self punishment or punishment of the partner. The fact that it´s a hidden house doesn´t make it any easier to understand, accept or deal with.

I would probably start there: explaining that the 8th house IS complicated, and that it´s to a great degree because how secretive it is.

And then Sa/Ra... I have it too. It´s like being a fainting goat: you hop aboard and then fall down again for no evident reason. That can also be shameful and hard to accept, that is: it might help you friend to know that what he has is a real thing. As long as he doesn´t, or you allow him to, use it as an excuse.

Generally I have little hope for pot smokers at that age... / I have the deepest respect for the plant M., I just don´t believe it should be approached to the grandfather fire. /

It´s hard to get more advice not knowing more of the chart, but I agree with Quasar: check for Jupiter helping out. And Mercury for helping Rahu out.
