I am slightly confused.

In the CoT course - in one of the videos, it was said that if we wrote a book of our lives that many of the events in life are tied to the trouble rahu creates (or something like that).

In another video (not a CoT video - was one by Ernst on YouTube) it was stated that "ketu is dominant pattern in our life and responsible for the pattern we can't break away from (security paradigm).

I realize, of course, the power of rahu/ketu and would like clarity on this. If rahu is responsible for much of the contents on the "book of our life" wouldn't both rahu/ketu both be responsible for the "dominant patterns in our life"?

Thanks.

I believe the events related to Rahu will be more dramatic and recalled more and hence worth being part of an interesting book on self life

Ketu events will be significant too but not special and one may not see them producing awe.

I agree with Dr. Rajan and the analogy that Ernst gives of Ketu being the castle and Rahu being the jungle I think would serve as a helpful way to see the relationship.

How many stories to do read/watch about the same thing happening over and over and nothing significantly changing or being challenged or threatened - that is the Ketu castle; we have breakfast, lunch, dinner, did some processions, wore fancy clothes and things worked out.  Nobody watches that, at least for too long because nothing is happening.

This boredom pushes us, often times through compulsive urges, into the adventure of Rahu which is the wild untamed jungle.  The jungle holds new experiences, people, places and things that will alter our identities and dramatically change our perspective on life - that's a great show!

After the adventure into Rahu we come back to Ketu and redecorate.  It's familiar and yet we bring our new perspective to it and it too transforms.  This transformation will eventually wear itself out and again the adventure into Rahu will occur.

I often see them as opposite ends of an infinity symbol, so one informs the other and can not be separated and yet the Rahu side will contain the dramatic challenge that redefines our sense of self and perception of the world.

If I were to write a book about my life there would be 3 Chapters to it. The first Chapter will be about Ketu as i want to explore my basic self, my DNA, my predispositions and what i am comfortable with. It is an introduction to the person that i was born and all the events that happened in my early life. The 2nd Chapter will be  leaving that comfortable Ketu castle and exploring the Rahu jungle that would entails all the adventures or misadventures and the experiences/transformation that developed out of them. If i have a good Ketu foundation then I do believe it will help with my Rahu exploration journey. But absolutely, Rahu is the exciting life journey that I will go through. It might even shape me into a totally different person than what i started out with when I left the Ketu castle. I would have to analyze the dignity of Rahu Lord and planets that Rahu conjuncts with to determine the quality of my Rahu journey.

The final Chapter will be the combination of Rahu and Ketu. I am returning home to my Ketu castle as a new person. I am not the same person that I left, but at the same time perhaps some part of me remains the same. My judgement, experiences and perception from my Rahu journey will shape me into the new person which will be the combination of my Ketu experiences and my Rahu experiences. My hope would be that I become a more fulfilled person with an inner growth and inner peace at the end of my Rahu journey.
