Hi Ernst,
I have studied Parashara’s formula for yoga judgement and I am analysing the following chart as a practice: Aries lagna with Jupiter, Mars and Saturn in the 6th rasi and Moon and Mercury in the 12th rasi. Jupiter and Saturn cannot form yoga for Aries lagna, however in this case the auspicious value of Saturn is greater than it’s inauspicious value (3.8 points of “good” and only 0.2 points of “bad”). Since Jupiter is the 9th lord (strongest trine) it has the same lordship-strength as Saturn does. Mars associated with Jupiter becomes auspicious and would give some help to Jupiter in this regard. Am I correct so far? About the aspect of Mercury and Moon: Mercury is an asubha for Aries lagna, but it rules the 3rd and 6th houses, which are less strong than the 9th house lordship of Jupiter. Does Mercury detract from this stained yoga with his inauspicious value by aspecting, or can he not detract from this stained yoga because he rules less strong houses then Jupiter and Saturn do? And what does the aspect of the Moon do to this party in the 6th? If I can clear up this little confusion I have about aspecting planets I will be delighted! Thank you, kind greetings, Evie.
After contemplating this some more, I think Mercury does detract from this stained yoga because of his aspect, and I think the Moon doesn’t do anything with his aspect because he is neutral for Aries, but a confirmation (or correction) of this conclusion would be very welcome, thank you!
Yes, Mercury will hurt the yoga of Jupiter and Mars. The blocking based on house strength works with conjunctions, not aspects. Moon is an angle lord, its opposite Jupiter the 9th lord, that's a yoga for Aries.
