Hi Ernst and fellow astrologers,
I have the following sensitive case, for which I could use some expertise to confirm or correct what I am thinking.
Aries lagna with JU, KE, ME and SU in the 9th, MA and VE in the 7th.
This person became a father for the first time in 2022, but sadly the baby girl passed away one day after she was born. At that time the father was in VE-SU dasha, SU is conjunct JU, JU only has 0.5 of auspicious value and SU `destroys` JU with 8.7 of inauspicious points. In the D40 I can see this being confirmed by SU being in the 4th from JU.
Now his wife is pregnant again, after alot of difficulties and IVF. She will again have a C-section to give birth, and this will be planned between 05-15-2025 and 06-15-2025. Untill 05-19-2025 the father will be in VE-MA and then he will move into VE-RA.
In his D1, MA is in the 11th from JU and influences JU from there with 16.9 `bad` points. JU gets a little help from ME who is conjunct JU, but only with 1.8 points. His Moon is a waning Moon so can`t help, and VE is with MA in the 11th from JU and reduces the bad influence of MA with 2.9 points of `good`, so the help from his benefics is not nearly enough to withstand the force of MA. In the D40 MA is in the 6th from JU. So it looks unfortunate to me if they will plan the C-section before 05-19-2025.
So now I`m looking at what Rahu is doing to JU. In the D1, RA is opposite JU and the top table (Rasi-S-I-D to equalbhava cusps from selected Bhavachalita cusp or graha) shows that RA influences JU with 3.2 points of `bad`. When I add up the help that JU gets from ME (conjunct JU) and from VE (from the 11th from JU) I get a total of 5.2 points.
Am I correct in adding the `helping` points of both ME and VE to JU?
Because if I am, then VE-RA would not look life-threatening to his child if the child would be born then.
(In the D40, RA is in the 11th from JU and influences JU from there with 3.2 points of `bad`, so also not a life-threatening situation for the child in this case, I would think.)
Am I looking at all this correctly?
I`m looking forward to your expert help in judging this delicate situation.
p.s. I am just looking at this from the Karaka Arishta Yogas, I didn`t get to studying the Lajjitaadi Avasthas yet (but will soon).
Your analysis is all technically solid, baby should be fine in Venus Rahu. Should be fine in Venus mars as well as Mars in 3rd from 5th gives the baby strength. However, to actually pick a good day for the baby to be born requires the potential birth chart to be examined of the child and the most important consideration for that is the moon is not with saturn or rahu and that the asc is strong and if you can get some benefics in angles that helps out a lot too. There is a lot do picking a day of birth and even experienced astrologers go through a lot of struggles with all the contradictions that have to be weighed at any given moment.
I can´t say I envy anyone taking on this task. What a responsability! Wish you the best luck though!

There is a basic rule in longevity and medical astrology, something I talk about in that courses, malefics in 3/6/11 and benefics in angles keep people alive.
