Tom Petty's 4th lord in D1 is with Rahu and aspected by Ma, Sa, and Ke.
@scott-m-19 Great point! Check Caranavamsa dasa running Cancer (17 May 1987 fire) with producers in both D1 and D9 to cancer and 4th pada. I'm using 17:05 as a birthtime, based on playing with events.

Would you explain the drug use by Mo/Ra in 12th? Also scorpio is 8th and Ve is conjunct a malefic?

@scott-m-19 Yes! I'm also seeing the only aspects to 12th are from Mars the 1st and 8th Lord plus Sa/Ke. With Sa being lord of AK placement likely hurts there too. He was known to have used heroine for MANY years. Mars 8th lord indicates needles. I might be over complicating it, but looks like a lot of confluence in both the D1 and D9 for drug use. Ultimately he died of accidental overdose with prescription pain/opioids.

I have found liquor yogas to work quite well for addictive behaviors, and afflicted planets in dusthana houses or water signs. Sometimes moksha houses too when afflicted (natural water signs).
i checked Roy Orbison, who´s house burnt in 1969. He doesn´t have the yoga. Would have been nice.
@meyes Yes, I recall Ernst using him as an example and the multiple tragedies. Glad you brought that up, his chart is certainly interesting. Agree yoga not present, wondering IF the native must be present at time of fire? Date I got was 14 September 1968 for the fire. At the time he was in UK, a foreign land far from home. Petty was in the house with his family when fire started. Another chart I have - has the yoga and native also home, so just a thought.
RE: Orbison, In his D1 Ke in Cancer w/ Rahu in the 5th ruled by Sa. Ak is Ju in 4th/Sag aspected by lord of Rahu Sa in Pisces. Su/Ma joined in Taurus and Lord Venus in Aries/8th house.
In the D9 Ak/Ju in Sc natural 8th, but is the 5th in this chart. If date above is correct, he was running Ju/Ju dasa.
*Odd side note* Petty just happened to be in a band WITH Orbison when his home burned. The Traveling Wilbury's ( with Orbison) began touring about 2 weeks after the Petty fire.
Yeah, I live in wild fire territory so I made sure I don't have this yoga! I don't have it, but my 4th lord is Ma and Ma is in the 8th...Hopefully nothing happens, but in this world, everything comes and goes!
@scott-m-19 If Mars is afflicted, maybe it's only a broken bone or an accident. If it's a strong Mars should be good for other things like surgery or the logic/calculations of astrology. Glad you don't have the yoga! Neither do I, but when I was very young my older sister started a small kitchen/fire that could have been a real issue. I was not home at the time. Neighbor was able to contain the situation, fire dept still came out minimal damage. I checked the yogas on family members and only "partial" aspects with some Ve benefits. So perhaps a "save".

Yeah, I have a waning Mo and Ju rasi aspecting Ma. Ma only receives delight from friends and is in N dignity. It is my AK and forms a unstained raj yoga with Ju. It does form a bondage yoga with Rahu. But Ma in 8th is still sketchy...I broke my arm at 1 years old (during Ma phase of life). I can like really intense things.
I checked out Per Oscarsson, a Swedish actor who died from his house burning down with him and his wife in it. He indeed has the Sun, Mars and Rahu aspecting each other (in the D-9), but not the AK. The Sun´s Lord Jupiter is aspecting the AK though, maybe that saves the yoga even if it´s not what the sutra says.
Rahu and Sun are aspecting the AK in the D-1.
In the D-60 they all aspect at after 11.14 AM until 3.30 PM more or less.

@meyes Great chart to analyze! I noticed that you are using Ve as the AK. Unknown birthtime, so if you move the birthtime back to 2 or 3 am, the story changes. Moon becomes AK and in the D9 yoga might be activated, let me know what you think?
*Side note, I believe 29 Scorpio/Pisces/Cancer all considered to be very inauspicious.

@ltmoon That´s fantastic! And before 1.04 in the morning it lines up in the D-60 too.
This, in the CoT system (don´t know if you know it?), makes him a King of Clubs which I can say that yes, it represents him. King of Spades, the death card on Uranus position; he was very carismatic on screen, as only happens when Death is there I think.

@ltmoon So cool! If I´m not wrong, this yoga is present in less than 4 % of the charts. So it´s quite fascinating to find out that it´s present in so many fire-related charts. Like the one of the Swedish actor, I grabbed it just because I knew about his death. And indeed, there was the yoga! One out 25...
