Hi Ernst,
you mentioned in one of your recent videos how the castes of the planets and Adityas influence the balance of the different castes. I am particularly interested in the Brahmin aspect and the capacity for spiritual development. I didn’t fully understand the concept, and so it’s difficult for me to determine whether a person has a strong Brahmin influence in their life or not.
As I understood it, I should look at the planets as embodying Kshatriya, Vaishya, Brahmin, Shudras - consciousness. Then I check how favorable the Lajjitaadi Avasthas of the Brahmin planets are. If these are particularly strong—does it matter in which Aditya they are placed? And are the Adityas then simply the specific expression of this Brahmin quality?
So is the strength of a planet (Uccha and Dig bala) and its Avasthas decisive, while the particular Aditya placement is secondary? Can a person be spiritually highly developed even without planets in Brahmin Adityas?
Does the Sun although if it is a Kshatriya planet, play a decisive role too, when it comes to Brahmin qualities?
For example, Yogananda—although I don’t have his chart in front of me right now—had a starved Jupiter in Aryama. At the moment, I can’t see how his planets in Parjanya, a Brahmin Aditya, could have been positively influenced through Jupiter.
I don´t know if you plan such thing but it would be super interesting to see how you interpret this with chart examples. In general having chart examples with interpreting the different planets in the Adytias, some time when you have capacities!
Thank you!!!
I deleted my other comment bc I was using the wrong navamsa.
Just looking at yogananda’s svamsa now and it seems to describe him. Moon ak in Indra: remaining in his place and taking on the responsibilities of bringing his meditation practice to America. He had to learn to be happy in his place in life. Sun rules Indra and he was definitely the chief or leader in his business. Nice rasi aspect by Saturn in tvasta. 10th from the svamsa we have Jupiter which can give fame. Rasi aspect by ex Saturn and Mercury which give accomplished deeds.
he has a lot of earth elements and he manifested a very large organization. The Venus starving Jupiter and Jupiter owning his ketu could be showing his desire to just meditate instead of having this responsibility to create all this stuff for other people. I’m curious to see what his more Brahmin oriented Vargas show. His rasi chat has a very strong yoga in the 5th for doing his dharma and he’s a vivasvaan path of doing useful things for others. And the ruler of the 5th is in a Brahmin sign which I’m guessing gives the flavor of the creation
The monk Aditya chart from Jaimini 1 shows ak being in Brahmin rasis in both navamsa and rasi. I forget the description of that person
So we need the intelligence, and we need the love. The love determines where we will be. So the intelligence is the planets, so brahmin planets are jupiter, venus. Those in good avasthas give the intelligence to understand and see truth. The water Adityas, they give the love of consciousness. So now a person has the skill of a brahmin and the love of a brahmin.
You will see a lot of devotees with strong water Adityas, they are all about the love, btu they have starved brahmin planets and they are looking for love in all the wrong places and have more painful relationship experiences than they do blissful spiriutual experiences. Connection, consciousness is important to them, but they do dumb things because they don't have the brahmin wisdom.
so this person needs to heal their avastha so they make right choices for connection. This person is in the bad habit of how they use the planet.
A person with strong brahmin planets but no water adityas, they need to make the decision to emphasize consciousness and connection. This person is in the habit of where they use the planets, not on consciousness. But it's not a bad habit, but it does not give Jupiter and venus as much outlet as it could.
