Learning about Dhataa I analyzed a chart of a aquaintance with a wonderful Dhataa. It has Moon and Jupiter in it, both in good dignity and both with a lot of delight on it.

Fourth house. Jupiter is his PuK.

This man should be a wonderfully supportive father. It turns out that he is everything but that. Rather the opposite, he has been using his children as a way to gain support, and now that they are adults expect them to support him. He also have a very skewed idea about the law of protection, constantly justifying bad actions and denying every wrongdoing.

The Lord Mars is shamed in the Lagna, Bhaga, by Rahu and the Sun. Exalted though.

I would still not expect a shamed Lord to ruin a perfect house so completely, but I don´t find any other explanation. Well, not without looking into the Vargas, which I haven´t done.

In this case, tropical actually seems to paiant a more truthful picture, since Aries would be the fifth house (for children) with no Jupiter nor delighted Moon in it.

But even so his 4th house would be better than good, with Jupiter in OH, even though the Moon would be in E dignity. That nice 4th house would explain why he acts so shamelessly though. So tropical really seems to work better in this case.

Is it possible that the aditya astrology describes WHO HE WOULD BE, had he chosen a more spiritual path? A depiction of the train he has missed in life (so far), the capacities that he should have developed, but hasn´t?

Any thoughts?

The dignities in the Aditya chart aren't right. Are they from another chart?

It says Mars OH, should be EX. Sun GF, should be GE, Saturn N, should be GE. Lord of Moon should be Mars, etc.

@josh Probably sidereal by mistake. Thanks for telling, I´ve changed it for the correct one.

Some things I noticed, not sure what affect they may have: Saturn and Sun are both starving each other, also creating a 1-8 parivartana yoga. Saturn is rashi aspecting Dhata with GE dignity.

Sun is the AK and Mars the gnati karaka. They are both shaming each other. It seems like he must have a deep sense of shame especially since it is in the lagna and which he has no idea how to handle, being with Rahu. Perhaps related in some way to wider family dynamics. Maybe in that sense he is treating his children the way his relatives treated him which caused such a shame.

Not sure how a person with such a deep sense of shame as a primary aspect of his life could really be a good father in any case, unless he had done some serious work to heal that, which, with Saturn in Indra, doesn't seem likely.

@josh Wise words and good observations. I guess that all those factors are enough for to ruin even such a wonderful Dhataa as his.

What I´ve come to understand now is what a risk a nice 4th house presents if you combine it with shame in another house, especially in the lagna of course. It´s really the recipy for shamelessness; Jupiter telling you that you are just fine even when you are standing up to the ears in shame and shameful behaviour.

And yes, it´s a peculiar familiar with strange behaviour, you are absolutely right. His father was a genious in his field and also in several other fields, shaming his children just by not sharing his excellence, belittling them in the most subtle way. Much like in "Autumn sonate" by Ingmar Bergman, in case you have seen that movie. That´s what I´ve understood. None of his four children have achieved much in life.

^thumbs up^

Dhataa lord badly shamed. Dhataa aspected by a very starved Saturn in the 8th of others resources. 5th and 8th cusp lord in the 2nd has very low chestha due to proximity to sun and it’s also approaching debilitation. Weird bc you’d think the sun AK would be nicer to vivasvaans lord

Yes. Interesting how blind I was reading this chart; since the person is part of the extended family there are emotional filters, I guess. I hope I would do a better job with someone neutral.

Thank you both!
