Its not considered to have an astronomical reference so the ancients never used it as a time to cast a chart for the year nor did they follow this calendar system. However ,as we do follow this calendar system, maybe it would work to cast a chart for it to see the events of the year. I have never tried that to see if it will work or not.

Just curious, what calendar system would have the most astrological significance in your opinion? The hindu panchanga? Or a solar based system?

When the Roman Emperor Julian attempted to reinstate Hellenism in the Roman Empire, he designated January 1st as the day to pay homage to the Hellenistic pantheon. He wanted to do it in January after the god Janus which indicates a doorway or transitioning back into pagan knowledge in the midst of Middle Eastern monotheism.

The panchanga is not really a calendar, it its an array of 5 astronomical components.

All the calendars have their own significance.

The modern calendar seems to be significant for the cards system and numerology as its currently practiced.

The lunar calendar appears to be most significant for lunar events.

The solar Calendar, it's the easy one to calculate and its useful for world events. But lunar calendar seems to give better results for world events.
