Hi Ernst,

Does Saturn have any value in the outside world, or is that value only personal? For example, the time and effort taken to learn various skills, the burden that one carries that makes one strong, that value can only be personal as everyone would only see the talents and skills, but not the time and effort taken to achieve those? Perhaps, that’s why Saturn as the servant only does the bare minimum required?

Hi, why do you say that Saturn only does the bare minimum required?  That would be a lazy servant!  A good servant does not only what's required but goes above and beyond to support his or her master without complaining or asking for more.  A strong Saturn is like that in the world, it not only supports your endeavors but allows them to happen.

What I meant was that it does what is required in that time frame. For example, in farming, a farmer will sow during sowing period and harvest in harvest period. There is no need to make preparations for a harvest during sowing period. It’s that kind of bare minimum I was talking about - something that needs attention at that time and just do what needs to be done.

Saturn is our resilience. Thats the ability to resist the pressures and strains of the external world. Why is someone a servant? Because they can handle the work, where the soft one's cannot.

How does that relate to the Sun? Saturn’s resilience helps strengthen the Sun? Or perhaps, it is Saturn who needs to value it’s own resilience and understand it’s own value?

Just thinking out loud here for what it is worth. To succeed one probably has had many failures. So one needs to be resilient to reach one's goal/path in life. I think that is how Saturn helps the Sun if it is a Saturn with good dignity.

Saturn is resting, being lazy because sometime there is nothing you can do but be lazy. Some people beat their head against the wall when they should have stopped doing what they are doing and rest or accept things like a bad Mars who can't seem to stop.

I find it interesting that Saturn is the son of the Sun yet they are enemies...

Sun is steadfast, he does not give up. Saturn can take the pain. and yes, these together makes a person most capable.

@ernst what if Sun is in Aries exalted and with Saturn who is debilitated in Aries. What does that tell us? Thx!

so thats going to reduce the chart. Sun may be exalted and the person can know themselves and what they need to be but saturn will make them get frustrated when things do not go th eir way. th ey will feel stress and anxiety even though sun is exalted. So it just reduces the overall capacity of the person.
