Hi Everybody,

Do we have somewhere more in depth information specifically about the phases of the Moon at birth like the significance of a waning Moon in it´s different states of waning and the opposite with the Waxing Moon? Would be also glad about further literature on that... (I don´t mind if it´s western or vedic astrology)

Thank you!

I think you can find it somewhere in maha shiv puran.

The story is like moon loved only Rohini and declined to marry the remaining 26 nakshatras who were the daughters of prajapati dakhsa. On rejecting the proposal, daksha cursed him to lose his powers. He was almost dead and then all 27 daughters tried to help him recover back. Rohini told him to worship Mahadeva to get rid of the curse. Then he started praying to Mahadeva and also realised how the other 26 daughters of dakhsa were loving while he was dying. Mahadeva freed him from the curse partially on account of repentance of his mistake, so told him now you will get full light on full moon only and no light on no moon and in between you will wax and wain. This would be a symbol that no one can escape their mistakes from the law of karma and at the same time repentance would help the person get back on track partially. So waxing is a symbol of person gaining confidence in himself as the light increases and waning is the symbol of person losing confidence on account of engaging in any ego maniac activities.

To my understanding, the closer to full the waxing Moon is, the more it gives and vv. If that is what you were wondering about?

@staffan yes I understood it that way too but I thought maybe there is more, I only find general information about it...

I think waning Moon is more internalizing things too, but what that means exactly... and then I would like to know if emotionally this can be destabilizing, being born at a waning Moon- and then to which degree depending eventually the phase of waning and so on.

I don't know about phases of moon at birth, but once an astrologer told me about secondary progressions of the moon which is a 28-year internal cycle.

She said during the balsamic moon phase, people feel like they are not sure what path to follow next or something in their path ends, and they don't yet know what to do next/what comes next. (I was in the same situation haha). This was apparently true with most of her clients in the balsamic moon phase

I had looked it up and found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNsd8tcdeJE

Maybe it can be extended to birth chart, but I have observed it works on the progressed transits.

THat is the tithi of the moon, so there are 15 phases in each fortnight. Jataka Bharanam is the one text I know that gives results of tithis. It's typical results that are hard to relate to in the modern world.
