Hello, I am seeking help understanding how karma plays a role in each person's life. For example I was born on 1/22/1979 5D KC and I've experienced much challenge consistently and my understanding is that the 5 of Diamonds in general comes into this life with specific karma, which I can use some help with understanding.

I say this because I experienced a very challenging childhood (more so than most I have met) and as an adult I experience very challenged health (more so than most I've met), though, I eat well, exercise, take good care of myself, pay attention to thoughts, words, actions, creating harmony, etc and still have these health challenges greatly affecting my quality of life to the point of nearly dying several times.

Greatly appreciate any insight anyone has.

In gratitude

- J

you need to pay attention to planets in bad avasthas especially Rahu, ketu  and Saturn avasthas and what they are doing in the birth spread/chart

@amit Ernst mentioned something about Rahu and Ketu being tied to karma and our ancestral pasts. Something like that our specific individual karma is then related to our ancestors past/experiences.

What does he mean by this?... Is it something along the lines that within our karma we selected to be born into a specific blood line to deal with, live out, and clear certain life events they experienced?

I'd like to better understand this as I think I may have uncovered and/or better understood my life purpose this morning.

Yes, I think Rahu is the karma lesson that we are meant to learn in this life to become stronger and capable in those areas where we are weaker and very likely we failed to learn that in our previous lives and it can correlate that to the point that whole ancestral line is struggling with that lesson and if Rahu is a predominating planet in chart, the person can be the one who will finally bring the lesson to fruition and the subsequent generations may not need to learn this lesson. Now it can be we are the same ancestors who failed to learn the lesson in the first place many generations ago or some other soul whose karmas are in sync with ancestors and has become the agent of upgrading the lineage through our accomplishments. In any case, weaknesses indicated by Rahu needs to be overcome!

Often we pray, at least in some traditions, for the ancestors 7 generations before us (and for the 7 coming generations). Often we were incarnated as one of the ancestors exactly 7 generations before us, to my understanding. So right when we are in some way leaving that branch on the family tree, life pulls as back and makes us meet the consecuences of our own actions. To my understanding, take it for what it is.

Also worth to mention: Ketu represents a well-known pattern from some previous lifetime in which we feel secure. But a little too secure. At the end of the day there is no development there, and although things may work out well for us for a long time in the area of life that Ketu indicates, our destiny catches up sooner or later and things start to go sour. Unless we dare to develop the opposite house, where Rahu is and where we have little knowledge. What we do there might give little fruit or no fruit at all IN THAT HOUSE, but in stead we harvest it in our Ketu house. Like a prize for daring to take the risk and face failure. Something like that.

There are many things to say about karma and many ideas of how it works, but here is a couple of basic ideas that astrology and working with the chart is built upon.

- We project ourselves to the world in such a way that we create the world we are living in. The outer world and how it treats us is a response to our mindset. When we manage to heal inwardly and change our way of projecting ourselves to the world, the world´s response changes immediately.

- The horoscope that we are born with is a snapshot of what was in our mind when we left our bodies in our previous life. We keep working from where we left. As Amit says: studying the horoscope and especially the planets he mentions, we get a picture of our working project and also realize where it fails and has to be adjusted.

Hi Staffan, an example of how to do this and where to start with it would be most helpful. I have listened to many of Ernst's videos and am unclear how to process the information. While its not overwhelming, I just am not understanding how to process it at this time.

I understand the basis of the destiny cards / cards of truth, however am unclear how to review the life spread and do that with the cards, astrology and alignment of the planets.

Some more specific direction would be most helpful 🙂

@5diamondskingclubs I see the card spread as a school for astronauts... the Sun card: our skills, who we are, the Moon card: what we attract, maybe we get dressed here, the Mars card: the training, the preparation, in the Mercury card we get our degree, in the Jupiter card we are being tested and approved, in the Venus card we get a last meal and some rest... Then in the Saturn card (and at Saturn maturation at 36), we are getting launched into space... In the Rahu card (at 42-45) we reach our (karmic) destination and a docking process starts... Here we have to do the necessary adjustments. In the Ketu card (at 48) we finally may - if we do everything right - finally leave our space shuttle and get into the space ship in which God awaits us for to show his kingdom...

So from a card reading perspective, our main karmic task is, I´d say, to work out the challenges of the Saturn and the Rahu card, and learn how to stay in the Ketu energy. We do that according to the indications of these cards themselves, but also in relation to the cards from 1-7 in which these planets fall.

And then, of course, we have to relate to our eclipse while doing all this. The cards of the outer planets support us.

Something like that. To my understanding.

What´s your BC?

@staffan Interesting. By BC I think you mean birthcard... If so, it is the 5 of Diamonds 1/22/79

Also the (36) (42-45) (48) are these degrees of the planets, or actually years of human age that you are referring to?

@5diamondskingclubs These are human ages. Ernst very strongly points out the importance of the planet´s maturation ages and also the natural time periods that they rule. (Unlike the dasas those are the same for everyone, so that the first year of life is ruled by the Moon, age 1-3 by Mars, 3-12 by Mercury etc)

It means that it´s very hard to overcome the challenges of each planet before it´s maturation. To be honest, when it comes to Saturn, Rahu and Ketu it´s quite a challenge also after that, but it´s at least doable to a degree.

And as Amit says: It helps a lot if we manage to work out our lajjitaadi avasthas.

Welcome down the rabbit hole... To follow Ernst´s teaching is a long journey, yet a shortcut in relation to most of the options.

Five of diamonds... A card I happen to know quite well, my youngest son is one. I wrote a post recently of how terrible the fives are (I´m a 5 of Clubs myself) with our habit of weighing and measuring and judging everything in our lives... To be taken with a grain of salt though, of course we have wonderful sides too. In the case of 5 of Diamonds what´s hard, I believe, is to commit to anything that you don´t feel passionate about. At least my son is like that, and I think most if not all 5 of Diamonds are: It´s either on or off and seldom anything in between. I prefer to see it as a BS-filter: you don´t invest energy in things you aren´t interested in. Is that how you feel?

@staffan Ah yes, I read that post about your son. Well, I'm a very do my own thing kind of guy and being a King of Clubs only enhances that as my Planetary card.

So due to my childhood being rough I felt the need to have to care for myself and have had issues with trusting/not feeling safe as I wasn't able to trust my parents as my parents divorced at 5 and I was later put in a home at 10 years old, etc. Lots of trauma. Hence the #8 in the Enneagram, if you are familiar with that system as well. I am an 8 7 wing. So the 8 if you are familiar is very much don't tell me what to do I got this and you couple that with the KC and its like whoa, yes everything has to be pure passion to interest me. Its intense, every aspect and the 5D then there is like no satisfaction no matter what I do so its like the lottery of challenges here!

So this is why I bring up the karma, because my life has been incredibly challenging, like super duper challenging and instead of being a victim to it I am looking to understand it better through these various systems, yet the astrology aspect is really making my head spin man.

Personally, I love the Enneagram and it fills in the gaps that I do not understand about astrology and the cards. I learnt this system before getting into birth cards and to be honest my knowledge of cards is incredibly minimal compared to the Enneagram which is more my wheel house.

@5diamondskingclubs With that attitude you´ve come to right place. If you don´t believe me, have a look at the 33rd video in the PAC course that Ernst is doing now (If you have access to the astrology and not only the card site?). It´s all about how we create our own world out of our true assumptions and what we are really focused on - which seldom is what we believe or WISH that we are focusing on... Basically: If we are victims, it´s only to our own false ideas. My words, not Ernst´s. I recommend it. On the other side I recommend every single class that he gives.

Yes, I´m somewhat familiar to the Enneagrams and I agree, they seem to work fine.

And yes, 5 of Diamonds are very independent by design. Nature made you that way since you have the tendency to decline many good offers, and also upset many people by doing that, I believe. You may easily come out as ungrateful. I think I´m a good father for my son realizing that he´s just like that and what he rejects in most cases is something that wouldn´t work for him anyway, or that the moment just isn´t right. Being a 5 myself perhaps I have an innate understanding for the rejection part - 5 of Clubs do that a lot, too. He´s 15 and live in Sweden with his elder brother and grandparents - 83 years old! - since May this year, while I and his mother live in Mexico... It works just fine, he seems happier and more connected to school and his everyday reality than ever. Very five of diamondish, somewhat similar to what you tell but luckily not that traumatic.

@staffan I started with Camp's Cards of Destiny. And I am thinking you are referring to Cards of Truth. I've watched so many of Ernst's videos, which ones are best to focus on for a basis of cards and then for a basis of astrology?

There is just so much information, I'm honestly like lost in it. I don't know how long you've been doing this but I'd think it takes quite some time to master it as well as quite some time just to get a basic understanding.

@5diamondskingclubs The cards you can learn to master in 6 months or a year, and with some complementary courses about for example the grahas (planets), Rahu and Ketu and the Lajjitaadi avasthas you have a great toolbox within a couple of years.

And since you have been talking about childhood traumas the course that Ernst is giving now, "PAC in astrology", might interest you too. I don´t think that one has to be a very advanced astrologer to understand most of it. It´s about the parental, adult and child mind as expressed in the horoscope. It´s psychology and all focused on detecting one´s real reasons, and to heal.

@5diamondskingclubs I had a quick look at your chart, not knowing your houses of course. Sa/Ra is a tough one. I know since I have it myself. I also have shame in my chart and think it´s similar: Where we have Sa/Ra we have to give up our ego and accept that we can´t deal with certain situations. And that it is completely irrational; don´t try to understand your reasons for freaking out, just accept it. I´m Swedish, in sports slang in my language there is an expression for that: "Just break down and then rise again." It´s very humbling. Not a bad thing I guess, from a spiritual point of view.

@5diamondskingclubs If that is your correct birthtime ( I repeat; 00:40, January 22 1979, Bronx, NY) you are actually not a 5 of Diamonds, but a 6 of Diamonds. According to Ernst Wilhelm the new card energy enters at sunrise (for that longitude, on the equator).

And yes, it´s an overwhelming amount of information in the beginning, I agree. Babysteps.

If you like the cards I recommend you to start with them and pick the complementary parts from astrology little by little. The card system has it´s own beauty and is relatively small and easy to learn in comparison to the traditional astrology, that is huge.

All depends on what you are looking for. Also studying for example the lajjitaadi avasthas goes a long way for healing. That you can do without getting too deeply into other parts of astrology.

@staffan Birthtime is correct. Regarding the time its 12:40am on the 22nd, not sure I understand about it being a 6D if the day begins at 12am and the sun doesn't rise till like 7 or 8am?

Wouldn't that still be the 5D and after sunrise its then the 6D?

If anything I would think the time would affect the day prior being a 4D, not skipping ahead to the 6D?

@5diamondskingclubs I´m not used to the 12-hour system of telling the time, but 12.40 AM means that you are born at night, right?

The day in reality starts when the Sun rises, but for practical reasons a long time ago they started to change the date at night when human activity is at it´s lowest. Kings come first and Ace last, so the day before a 5 is a 6.

@staffan I'm not sure what you might be referring to. Here in the USA we go by a 24 hour block of time and the new day starts at 12am. So technically it is 12 in the morning at the new day begins at 12, not 12 at night.

@5diamondskingclubs Yeah, in Sweden and most of Europe I guess, in script we mostly use 24-hours form, so your birth time would be 00.40. No room for misunderstandings that way.

@5diamondskingclubs I hope and also believe that you are not too deeply in chock because of this change. The Neptune card, indicating what we connect to most deeply in life, is 7 of Clubs. Things that break and have to be put together again... Ideas, philosophies, methods, ideologies coming to an end. Renewal...

Ernst Wilhelm is a 7 of Clubs. The great repairman within astrology.

@staffan I am looking at 1/21/1979 as DOB the 6D AD so I'll look up those cards and see if that resonates. This is quite interesting what you are brought up.

@Staffan, well what I will say for the moment is that I do not fully resonate with the 5D. I don't like to travel physically, though do multi dimensionally and the 6D does seem more aligned. Now on to the AD.

Wow this really throws a wrench in things I thought, as I am so aligned with the KC. so lets see here.

How can we like 100% verify what you think to be correct here?

@5diamondskingclubs Often there are similar themes repeating between two cards following each other. Your identification with KC might for example resonate with 8 of Spades on the Mercury position, indicating how we go by, our strategy in life. In the case of 6D: "My time, my way", "Don´t try to make me hurry." Being on top of time, one could say. Integrity, one could say. But your Ra/Sa conjunction falls in that card, so it´s a frustrated card for you. You probably don´t feel as much in charge of your own life as you would like to, or need. 6D has a great need for taking their time and initiate things when they feel ready.

@Staffan, oh man. This is mind blowing I so resonate with the AD being the planetary card, it is quite similar to the KC of intelligence and I do have a lot of whit and charm.

Man you opened a can of worms here, though I do not say that in a bad way. Love to really figure out how to cement this theory of yours as I did not up online about in Vedic astrology that it is when the sun rises the next day.

That being said billions of people potentially would literally be named the incorrect birthday as 12am-7am I could think is across the world for when the sun will rise that means 1/4 of the day people are astrologically being told the wrong birthday.

Geez man! Lets figure out how to 100% verify this. I am excited!

@5diamondskingclubs Also your underlying card - where you come from, something that you bring from a previous life probably - is 9 of Clubs, which has a lot in common with KC. The Kings are the combined energy of 7, 8 and 9 in that suite, and resonates most strongly with 9. So with 7 of Clubs in the Neptune position and 9 as underlying card, plus another black 8 in Mercury position - all these cards resonates a lot with KC. And there are other, minor resonances too.

@staffan I am definitely a 6D based on what I just read here. I like the bullet points of this site: https://www.thesourcecards.com/six-of-diamonds

This is so me. My ex girlfriend would always say things have to be my way.

The physical body stuff I have to wrap my self around because I've had some serious health challenges, however I discovered yesterday through a session with a healer that there was an ancestral trade made for my entire blood lines health 35 generations ago where my ancestors wife was on her deathbed and he traded the health of all of us to come for her health to live. It was an eternal trade and it was broken yesterday!

I am very athletic in an athletic body so this again is just absolutely mind blowing my man!

@staffan Wow. Makes so much sense. AD nails it for sure. This is so me to a T. I am so thankful for this interaction with you. Am I correct to say that 1/4 or so of us are being listed as the incorrect birthdate based on this sun rise technicality where it is actually the day before and hence the card before?

@5diamondskingclubs According to Ernst Wilhelm, yes, all the night birth until some point between 5.45 and 7.45 in the morning (it varies, and you have to use a program for to know when it changes) run the card from the day before. But in the tradition of cards of destiny they see it differently I believe.

@staffan I noticed on this chart of Ernst's site (below) he has an option to select North Indian or South Indian. Why would someone choose one over the other that is not located in N or S India?

Like what is the difference between them and which do you utilize and why?

@5diamondskingclubs North indian style is better for detecting yogas, South is easier to use when working with aspects, especially rasi aspects. Jaimini tradition mainly.

Okay, just see which card is afflicted and associated with the concern. Then understand the essence of the card and see how bad avastha is preventing to live that card naturally. Then make efforts to live the essence of the card while trying to fix bad LAs causing the issue.

Similarly do for the afflicted rasi sign associated with the concern.
