Have you done any more research regarding using the sidereal calculations for Nakshatras?
I would say just try both and see what happens. I cannot do tropical for the life of me, and I have switched back and forth a number of times with it. It might also depend on what ayanamsha you use, and its worth noting that there are ayanamshas that correct for modern dates and star alignment, so worth taking a look at.
Experiment around: For instance, if you where on mars, what sign would earth be exalted, debilitated and rule ????
