Hi Ernst,
Is it better to water fast than juice fast for 1-7 days? I've tried a just fruit juice fast for 4 days and it felt very healthy but still not sure if water fast is healthy since that's no calories at all. What do you recommend?
The document I found by him says to do water fast only if you’re feeling particularly strong but it’s not necessary and that juice fasting is better for most people.
I would also advise fruit juice (obviously we're talking about juice made from real fruit at home, not the stuff sold in shops). Many people nowadays suffer from adrenal weakness and malabsorption, and in these cases water fasts can be too extreme. It's a good option if you're quite advanced with detox and know what you're doing.
Dry fast is a no-no overall.
I once did water fasting and passed out on the 3rd day of it, since then I stick to juice fasting or simply eating fruit only - for a stronger/faster detox I add herbal tinctures.
You just have to test things. I started out with just water. When I went to juice fasting, I had just as good results, but it was more fun and a lot more tasty, haha. These days I do both. ALso, just a raw food fast can do wonders. You have to be careful when using herbs to detox and make sure your organs are healthy. For example, I had a friend who had a OMD that she loved and she raved about h im, he was raided by the FDA for curing aides in the 90s, etc etc. He gave her an herb to detox her hypothalmus of all things. I had looked at her iridoly and said, no, don't do that, your kidneys' can't handle it. She said, no, Dr. So and So is the best. Three days later her kidneys failed and she had to rush to the hospital. She had had severe kidney issues 15 years before as well it turns out.
So tintures, herbs, can cause a very strong detox, if you can't handle that, it can be a problem. Its better I think to consume things that help carry the toxins OUT Of the body once your body releases them, like cilantro juice.
Most people detox so quickly when they start to eat, that they need help with buffers and supporters, and juice, veggie juice of soft neutral veggies and and fruit can help that. Grape juice is fantastic as well. I am sure the Dr that Nadya refers to knows of many supportive herbs like this.
