Hi,
for determining the losses and profits, do we consider the professions that planets represent or the karakas that they are? For example, Mars rules real estate and stones as a Karaka, but Saturn rules builders and mining. If we have Mars as a planet aspecting the 12th of the pada for loss and Saturn is a planet for profit, can we say that real estate deals and mining of stones will be a loss?
And excuse me if you have spoken about it, but if the Pada and the Upapada don't have any planets in them, which one do we take take first?
Thanks
Karakas and professions will not be in conflict with each other. If they are, then there is some confusion about the karakas. So, Mars rules land, and bricks. Saturn rules stones as Jaimini says Saturn makes a house of stones. The primary karaka of any wealth that comes from the earth is Mars, he is everything auspicious that comes out of the ground. So he has a say in mining. Saturn is also involved as much of mining is removing, which is saturn, the ore, which is stones that are not wanted from the precious metals. So mining requires both saturn and mars. Mars aspecting the 12th would indicate that the expense of the land and mining engineering will be large. Saturn aspecting 11th indicates that there will be a way to make some profit on the junk dirt and rock removed from the mining process.
But in end, with mars aspecting 12th, the expense will be high and so not the best idea to deal with land or mining.
If pada and upapada both dont have planets, then look to see whose lord is stronger.
Both full moon and Venus can give luxury type careers with jaimini, which includes restaurants.
@enrst what happens when Mercury aspects 12th from Pada (Pada is Virgo, so stronger than Capricorn Upapada) but Venus and Mars aspect 11th from Pada.
Would having a business (mercury) always bring more loss than gain? Even when Mars is in better dignity (moolatrikona) than Mercury? So for example a gem business... would that be fruitful?
Thank you!
