Hi Ernst,

I'm currently taking the Jaimini Sutras audio class and am really enjoying it so far. I'm in the section that is starting to cover Pada 2.

What does it mean if there's a strong discrepancy between the Atmakaraka in the Rasi and the Navamsa?

Example 1:

AK strong in the Rasi - afflicted in the D9

Does this mean the person's concrete path and journey will be relatively smooth, but they won't feel anchored and find fulfillment in it?

Example 2:

AK afflicted in the Rasi - strong in the D9

Does this mean the person's concrete path is riddled with difficulties and challenges, but despite this they are able to find happiness and fulfillment in it?

If these two statements are true, does that mean that at the end of the day, the D9 will always be more important than the Rasi? Will a strong navamsa give a person the ability to deal with even the greatest concrete difficulties on their path?

During the course once or twice Ernst said the Navamsa is more important so if let's say you have Venus in debilitated in Virgo but exalted in the Navamsa, you sill can have a great marriage. I see this in a few charts of people that i know. He said if you have a planet that is not so good in the D-1, always check D-9 to see how that planet is doing. But i would like to hear Ernst's reply to what if you have an exalted planet in D-1 but that planet is debilitated in D-9. What does that imply?

I looked at your chart that you posted earlier and i was going to analyze the Argala for you, but then i thought it might be better for you to take the course and do the analysis. It will be fun for you..

Thank you for responding and also sharing your own observations.

I suppose one of the things I'm confused about is: If the navamsa truly does trump all other charts, why bother with the Lajitaadi Avashtas, which Ernst says he only uses as indicated in the Rasi? Wouldn't what we can get from each planet already be determined in the navamsa and thus more or less set in stone?

Thank you also for letting me figure Argala out on my own. It's very sweet of you that you considered doing it for me. So far, with the simple Argala rules I learned, my AK is the only planet with Argala in the Rasi, which I guess is pretty nice. Really enjoying this class so far as Jaimini is just so straightforward. It's fun!

I think this post might have gotten buried under a series of other posts and gone unnoticed.
