Hey Ernst & everyone, I would like some help from anyone who has the time in regards to a specific Jaimini technique that has been giving me trouble.

I have been listening to the Jaimini Audio courses and came across the technique where you examine the 11th and 12th from the Pada/Svamsa/Atmakara. In this case, the 11th from the Pada/Svamsa/Atmakaraka leads to gains/increase, while the 12th leads to losses/expenses.

I was wondering how you would advise people who have their Pada & Atmakaraka 12th from each other in the Rasi Chart. Since they are both causing losses to each other, would this make a person stuck? Will a person have to choose either their Pada or Atmakaraka to follow? How could someone possibly overcome this situation?

I'll provide an example chart below, thanks!

The way I've understood this technique and worked with it is you see the 11th from the Pada for gains and the 12th for losses. Then you do the same from the UP, not the Svamsa or AK. You run the techniques that you use for the Svamsa on the Pada, but not the other way around. Anything that's looked on the Pada can be used for the UP. Anything that's looked at for the Svamsa can be used for the Pada. The techniques in the Pada section don't get transferred over to the Svamsa section. Jaimini like a lot of things in astrology are building upon each other in a step-by-step process, which makes things accumulate as you move forward.

Interesting, I thought it was the exact opposite. I remember hearing Jaimini and Ernst saying that. he techniques that apply to the Pada also apply to the Svamsa but not the other way around. I could be wrong though....

As Suzan has stated, we do svamsa techniques from pada. And also upapada is secondary pada so we do all pada techniques from that which includes svamsa techniques.

If pada and upapada are 12th from each other then expect more effects from the strongest of the two padas, if equal strength, from the pada.
