Hello!
Here is my understanding on determining whether a planet is in Lajjita avastha:
1. The planet must be in the 5th or must conjunct with Rahu or Ketu
2. The planet must conjunct with Sun, Mars or Saturn
Is my understanding correct? If so, does the rule also apply to Sun, Mars, and Saturn as well?
For example, let's say we have a chart where Sun and Mars are in the 5th position; does this mean both Sun and Mars are in Lajjita avastha?
Thank you for your time!
Yes, those natural cruel planets can also be ashamed, like in your example of Sun and Mars in 5th.
Here is my understanding of shamed planet:
Rule 1 - A planet in the 5th house AND with Sun, Saturn or Mars (One of the three malefic planets) Or
Rule 2 - A planet with Rahu or Ketu AND conjuncts Sun, Saturn or Mars in any houses
Per your example i agree with Bright Sun that if you have Sun and Mars in the 5th then both are shamed per rule #1
Rule 2 - Let's say we have Sun, Mars and Ketu in the 6th house. Then we have combust Mars, shamed Sun and Mars....
Anyone disagree?

For example, John Lennon had Mars and Sun with Rahu in 7th house Libra. Mars is also the lagna lord. Two self factors shamed in the 7th. But they are also forming a rag yoga, trine lords in an angle.
Thank you both for the clarification!
