Hi Ernst,
I am listening to your Mercury delighting Venus video in LA Heart of Parashara. You said Venus is delighted in 2 signs of Mercury, Gemini and Virgo. Isn't Venus also debilitated in Virgo too? Can Venus be delighted in Virgo and being debilitated at the same time?
thx!

Hi Tuyetv, I remember Ernst mentioning somewhere that the Venus debilitation wasn't that bad of a debilitation because it is debilitated in the sign of a friend (like Mars in Cancer for example). That being said, it's also interesting to keep in mind what Venus debilitated in Virgo (as a sign) means vs what Venus being delighted by Mercury (as a planet) means. Those 2 things can co-exist.
From the character effects of the Graha, Ernst mentions that one of the issue with a debilitated Virgo is that someone may let go of what they need and stick to stuff you shouldn't stick with. Also, Virgo being an earth sign, what becomes worth it is for Venus is what she can see, touch, smell, instead of what makes her feel good (when in Pisces). Venus is also more opinionated than Mercury, she's meant to operate with a goal in mind. etc...
But, when delighted, Venus has a greater ability to interact and is skilled at getting her needs met while being conscious of the other's needs as well.
So, it seems to operate at different levels.
The ideal scenario is a delight through conjunction, they are mutual friends so no "side effects".

I also remember somewhere Ernst saying that Venus in Virgo is very intuitive and able to fix and repair material things with intuition, or something like that...
Edited to add some details on Venus in Virgo that I found in my notes:
- Venus is Debil in Virgo but Mercury really helps her. But Venus will still be stressed. Mercury will save the day during stressful situations.
- Venus in Virgo has hunches that it will work (where Venus has her joy in Hellenistic Astrology).
