Hello,
I am a beginner and I would like to clarify something about Lajjita Avastha.
From what I understand, a planet becomes Lajjita when it is in the 5th house and joined with the Sun, Mars, or Saturn, or when it is joined with Rahu or Ketu, in any house.
Is this correct?
Also, does an aspect (without conjunction) from Rahu, Ketu, Sun, Mars, or Saturn to a planet create Lajjita Avastha as well, or is it only through conjunction?
Thank you very much for your help!

This has confused me too, getting all the conditions correct. Below I have presented it in a way that I think is correct and makes sense to me.

For a planet to be lajjita, shamed:

two conditions are necessary:

1) must be conjunct sun, mars, or saturn

AND

2)

          a) in the 5th house

          OR

          b) conjunct Rahu or Ketu

A confusing example:

My brother has Saturn and Ketu in the 5th

I'm going to say that this isn't "shame" because there is no physical planet conjunct Saturn. If it were Saturn, Mercury, Ketu in the 5th, then Saturn would shame Mercury and there would be a lot of it since in the 5th and with Ketu. If it were Saturn, Sun, Ketu, then Sun would shame Saturn, and Saturn would shame Sun.

But with just Saturn and Ketu in the 5th, this doesn't shame Saturn by itself.

It would also mean aspects don't cause shame, since the first condition includes the word "conjunct".

@helia @j0sh4rp3 You both got it right. You think it´s complicated? I don´t think so, it´s just: conjunct one cruel graha plus rahu/ketu or in the 5th. Easy peasy, really.

And yes, only conjunction gives shame.
