fixing a planet?

so if we have a planet that's badly placed, inauspicious and/or low shadbala.

Can we do any kind of remedy or penance to "repair" that planet so we can get more positive benefits from that planet instead of negativity?

In other words, is it possible to repair a badly placed planet? So if Mars is causing alot of negative effects in someone's life, can we "fix" that mars or make it more comfortable so we can get more positive benefits instead of harmful stuff?  And if so, how do we do that?
