Hello Ernst

For checking tithi birthday, do we need to consider the same janam nakshatra too to get the exact date or same karana or both or just tithi is fine ? And if tithi starting at mid day until tomorrow, do we consider the day in which in the Sun rises ?

Thank you

Hi Amit,

Are you referring to Tithi Pravesha?

Hi Laura

In India, we celebrate birthday as per lunar calendar chiefly. Say someone is born on bhadrapada shukla paksha ekadashi, so every year, birthday will be celebrated on the same tithi but I want to know if we need to go one level deeper to nakshatra or karana level and if tithi overlaps to other day, then which day to consider?

For making a tithi return chart, you need to duplicate the sun moon phase and look at the chart for that time.

@Amit for the celebration purpose it should be same logic with which we time all the Hindu festival as per lunar calendar which is  to see same lunar month with exact krishna puksha or sukla paksha  and exact tithi and if that happend to be 2 days long choose the better day where rest of the panchanga are more favorable  but if you want to do an assessment how that birthday from a mahurta perspective then what ernst said we need to cast the tithi return chart
