Hi Ernst, Hi to everyone!

What's the origins of the reverse 10th and 24th Vargas? and which Vargas has to be used for determining the Isthadeva?

thanks millions

In these two vargas BPHS says, reverse these for even rasis. What is normally reversed is just the deities, not the signs. Based on the structure of those vargas, it made sense to me to reverse the signs as well so I tried that and liked it.

@ernst thank you for the promptly replay. So are those Vargas interchangeable in the use, I mean can we watch at both, revers and not, what's the proper way to use them?

Hi Ernst and folks,

What part of what course is "reversing the 10th and 24th vargas" for finding deities mentioned. I'm not sure I understand what is meant by that.

My understanding is that the navamsa, and secondarily, the d24 and d1, is seen for what planet(s) is in and/or rashi aspecting the 12th rashi from the swamsha. And if the swamsha is an even rashi then we count forward for the "12th house".

that even odd is a different thing. the deities i am talking about are the varga deities where each varga has a deity that gives an effect.

@ernst I see. I remember some of those. Thanks.

Those deities of each varga are an interesting aspect of Jyotish that most astrologers neglect.
