Hi friends,

I was just reading the thread and wondering how do you determine the direction of the lost object which was retrieved at the South-East of the apartment?
I mean, do you accept what the compass shows or do you lean your back to the main entrance of the house and then define directions accordingly (as in back is South, Face North, etc.)?

My understanding is funny with the directions…
(For instance, I still have this question unanswered in my mind since years: “You arrange your head facing North in bed.” People say…. Which way North? My chin and feet should be North or the Head chakra is towards the North? A mystery to me…)

Thank you

Zumrut

@zumrutd  to recap about the direction, I believe @scott-m-19 deduced the directions by 1 aries = east and 2 gemini = southeast.  Karaka of the item, Jupiter is in Aries and Ld of Aries, Mars is in Gemini, so East and Southeast and standard compass directions are used, like standing in the apartment and using your compass app on phone or a magnetic compass to see where is E and SE are.

The head in the bed is interesting.  I've read feng shui guidelines that say a single direction is not applicable to all and one needs to use their 4 pillar astrology to find the best direction along.  Then there is changing the direction year to year based on the flying stars.  Endless!  But for determining head direction I've been told to use the direction a compass would point if there was an arrow sticking out the top of your head.

@quasar259

this (an arrow sticking on top of the head) is the best explanation I’ve received ever! Thank you.

Thank you also for the explanation with the Prasna and the other ones.

Things are clear.

Kind regards

Zumrut

Listening to ernst comment on using it to find something that was under his moveable washer

this really got me laughing!

Sounds like you've had bad experiences with astrologers so perhaps you in a hard time for getting good guidance or there is something going on with your Jupiter, also there are a lot of two-bit astrologers out there, I'm perhaps just at the three-bit level, but I keep studying!  All you need is the prashna class with the study materials.  You don't need kala for prashnas, all the techniques I used were not kala-dependant and quite often in Ernst's courses he tells us how to calculate most of the techniques by hand and also which ones are standard with other chart programs and which ones are unique to Kala.  Use whatever free software you have, draw up a chart for the time of the prashna and just follow the course material.  Many of the fine tune details like special lagnas and upagrahas are not necessary.  If your into prashna, your likely to be interested in Varshaphala and that would be a perfect complement.

From my experience the 'finding what you don't have but need' is most succinctly addressed in the Lajjitaadi Avashtas course and the courses on Rahu & Ketu.  If a client posed that question to me, my cursory check list would be Lajjitaadi Avashtas, Rahu/Ketu, Saturn, Moon, planets in difficult house positions & conjunctions.

You could just list some good names to see. I will get to longitadi at some point.
