When moving planets to figure out what Akriti Yoga one has, can you move a planet backwards, say from the 11H to the 10H?
It has been awhile that I analyze Akriti yogas. But as I remembered for Akriti Yogas, i move planets forward and backward to see how many planets that i have to move to make it a perfect yoga... Only the one Akriti yoga formed by moving the least planets in in the chart.That is the Yoga. For me it was Shakti Yoga as i only need to move one planet to make it a perfect Shakti yoga...

short answer is YES. My knowledge is that there are "best fit" Yogas and so the yoga that requires you to move the least planets is the strongest one. This can implicate more than one Yoga and often you will see planet and house placements favoring one over the other.
