If the second house is related to our voice, shouldn´t the opposite be the place of listening?
Of course it´s the house of intuition and psychic ability so that comes close of course. But more concretely: the capacity for hearing, for listening?
Maybe I haven´t been listening good enough, well, my 8th house lord is debilitated, so...

just thinking out loud here the second house is speech, face, teeth and gums, tongue and mouth ect.. The third house is hearing, voice, singing, ear, music etc.. so i would think listening would be more of a third house than the second house? I could be wrong...

Interesting. I´m not aware of the third house being the house for hearing, but perhaps you are right. Do you know where you have gotten the concept from?

I´ve been googling a little and some say the 3rd house represents the right ear while the 11th would indicate the left ear. That´s good to know if it´s true, but the capacity for listening is still a little different I guess. I don´t know...

@staffan my notes also said 11th house is the left ear too.. So i would assume the 3rd is the right ear...I have about 30 pages of general astrology notes with all sort of things that i have accumulated over the last 6 years. I have hearing as 3rd house thing. But also my reference book "Beneath a Vedic Sky" also said 3rd house is hearing...I just expand that to listening because 3rd house is about skills. And listening to me is definitely a practiced skill as it requires both the ability to let go of judgement and contemplation...

you are absolutely correct. Hearing is not the same as listening. Listening is a hard because it is a skill but then 3rd house is about skills. Listening takes a lot of practice, believe me. I often time hear but i don't listen to what people saying. To listen you have to contemplate too. Lets see what Ernst has to say...
