In a recent thread it was discussed that every planet has a house it hates to be in, and 6th is the worst house for Venus. This was a little surprising to me as it has pretty good dig bala there.

I was wondering what the worst houses for the other planets are?

Thinking about it, i thought maybe it has to do with Venus' DB rasi Virgo being the natural 6th house. Using the DB positions of planets i got:

Sun in 7th, Moon in 8th, Mars in 4th, Mercury in 12th, Jupiter in 10th and Saturn in 1st.

All those would make sense to me except Jupiter in 10th. I'm thinking Jupiter in 3rd, sorry Ernst 🙂

Did i get it right or is there a different rationale?

What about the nodes, 8/2 axis?

per my notes i have Mars in the 8th is not good. It can cause so much disruption that you can't get anything productive or useful done. I also have Moon is worst in the 8th house. Moon in the 8th or Saturn in the 8th house in the Rasi makes a person emotionally very vulnerable. Moon is never satisfied if it is in the 8th house.

As for Dig Bala per my notes i have Jupiter and Mercury are strongest in the 1st house just as stated by Mitryendra80, Sun and Mars have full Dig Bala in the 10th  house, Saturn has full Dig Bala in the 7th house, Moon and Venus have full Dig Bala in 4th house

Saturn in the 6th house can be very tenacious. Mars in the 1st house is very hardworking...

I also thought about the dig bala positions, but maybe that's more just in terms of shad bala.

There seems to be some other logic going on here.

As Ernst said in the thread venus and the 6th house "every planet has a house it struggles in and that house is the 6th for venus."

There are bhavas in which a planet goes to excess, so both the bhava and the planet go to excess. The better the dignity the worst this problem. This planet is drained and so becomes a more likely inflictor of death - this is found in the longevity chapters of some books, Jataka Parijata if I remember correctly.

Some of these positions are venus in 6th and mars in 8th. Muhurta also mentions these two posistions as making a muhurta not a good starting date. Mars in 8th breaks things, venus in 6th in a muhurta indicates that the decision to do something ends up not being a good decision. I avoid these two always in muhurta.

The other positions of excess are jupiter in 3rd, saturn in 8th, Moon in 8th

And Mercury in 4th and Sun in 12th if I am remembering these last to correctly.

So saturn in 8th, fear becomes excessive, moon in 8th the emotional ups and downs are excessive. Jupiter in 3rd the abundance becomes excessive, there is more than enough which is abundance and then there is more than more is enough which is overwhelming. Venus in 6th, sharing can become excessive. Mercur in 4th, the thoughts become excessive. Mars in 8th, violence and breaking things becomes excessive - this does not mean the person is necessarily violent, often it means they have violent events, like severe car accidents, etc. The person I met who had broke the most bones had mars and sun in 8th. Sun in 12th is excessively noble as in they can stick to some noble concept that may have no relevancy - when nobility does not recognize need or practicality. George bush and not allowing stem cell testing is an example.

@ernst Thanks for the detailed answer. I'm wondering why Jupiter in 3rd leads to overwhelming abundance, seems like the least intuitive of these excesses. Is it abundance of minor details and skills?

Very interesting with Sun in 12th leading to useless nobility. My brother has this position, i can see it in him. He also has Moon in 8th, but it's with Ketu so we have no idea of his ups and downs 🙂

@ernst i wonder about jupiter in 3rd and it's excess like doing daily things too much? Or maybe remembering useless fasts? Remembering the things teacher said about personal life and other useless stuff more than what he taught?
