Hi Friends,
I have spent the last couple of months starting to read the Shashtras. As I have become more familiar with what a Rakshasa is and what a Deva is, I'm left more informed and confused by what should I expect from Deva moon and Rakshasa moon people.
I have read for a couple a few times. They both have Rakshasa moons. They do get a thrill from breaking rules and social conventions but they appear to understand Dharma and don't appear to deviate from it wildly.
I know that Rakshasas have many capabilities and qualities to be admired, I'm not expecting Rakshasa moon people to be "bad", yet at least one person in this couple knows and lives by the Bible much better than the average person.
Also, based on my readings of the Shashtras so far, there appears to be a great power differential between Devas and Rakshasas vs. Humans.
Does that have any implication for this moon compatibility technique? Is this why a Deva moon and Rakshasa moon couple is ill-advised but a human-Deva or Human-Rakshasa moon pairing is ok?
Neither is better than the other, what matters is how the planet is doing, what avasthas it is in. The planet can act like a monstrous devi or a wonderful rakshasa, etc. Rakshasa's are simply more needing to live out their primal side - the question is, what is in thier primal side? Deva's want to life out a life of what they think is good conduct. But what do they think good conduct is? KKK cult members thought that good conduct was to keep Caucasian race in its "rightful0" place. The world is full of deva's causing problems because their ideas of what is good is not having any truth to it. Human, or Manusha, are about finding balance between these two things and doing what works in reality.
Interesting, my first assumption is that KKK and similarly minded organisations are more "primal" in nature because they pursue an overindulgence of tribalism and primitive us-vs-them instincts. I find them much more emotional and instinctual rather than intellectual and higher minded. I'm open to hearing a different explanation of course.
From my reading of the Ramayana this is my perspective (I'm starting the Gita Purana now). The Ramayana mentioned that Ravana's big problem/weakness was his cold and unfeeling nature. He certainly had a very strong vision of how the world should be and what he thought proper conduct was. He performed tapaysa and did whatever he could to consolidate his power and make his vision a reality. Lord Ram had very little attachment to how the world should be. When the rug was pulled out from under him he gracefully rolled with the punches, multiple times. Yet he resolutely remained connected to his heart and loyal to dharma even under very extreme duress. He even mentioned that he would embrace Ravana, if he should return to practicing proper dharma.
Sita also stayed loyal to her dharma and never slept with Ravana, even though the Rakshashis were telling her if she did she would become queen of everything.
Is there a difference in the use of the words Deva and Rakshasa between the Ramayana and how we use them in astrology?
And based on your last comment would that make people with Er moons the most practical?
These three principles have to do with the different parts within us, the primitive instinctual child mind, the rakshasa; the do the right thing, this is what is right, deva, the path, parent mind; and the rational, observing human. So different nakshatras are guiding their moons with these different principles and its important that a person allows themselves to flow along these lines. If you get a rakshasa moon who is not willing to act out thier feelings, feel what they feel no matter how crazy, adn who instead tries to deva manage thier feelings with correct conduct, doing what the shastras say, then they will ruin their lives and health. So thats not the right berhavior for them. This is the most extreme example of course but it holds true for all of them. You need to look at planets wiht the moon and the rasi lord of the moon, their avasthas, to get an idea of they are living out the nakshatra or repressing those nakshatra energies.
