Hi Ernst,

I am still trying to clarify in my mind.

7th house is equal give and take. Ketu in 7th does unequal give and take, until they move to the 1st house and then they find the equal give and take in the 7th house. That is clear.

Jupiter is about giving out of abundance. Rahu-Jupiter in the 1st is in the search for the abundance within themselves. That is clear.

But putting it together seems to contradict itself and which is where I am getting confused. How does one give out of abundance and still have an equal give and take 7th house?

So, in this case, they need to find people who in return give out of abundance, to create the equal give and take of the 7th house?

If so, then every time the person levels up, the people in the 7th house need to be ones who are a level up. Is that correct?

Since abundance is subjective, it does not have to be exactly equal, but can be in kind, in such a way that each party is happy with what they receive in return. Am I understanding this correctly?

7th is a win win relationship. Ketu in 7th tries to make an equal relationship and in thier mind, it is, but the truth is, they are unable to do that because they are not developed enough in themselves to have some commodities that the partner needs as well as not knowing what is really important to them. So its equal equal, but not with stuff that makes it a TRULY win win. Jupiter is giving otu of abundance, 7th is equal equal. They are two different things happening and one is about the relationship, the other is about the person's life. there is no contradiction. Thge need to develop their abundance so that they can give out of it. JUpiter is about giving from abundance not getting. The 7th house needs to develop not the amount of give and take, but that which is given and taken to be something that is truly valuable.

Ok, I am beginning to get it. I don’t have trouble in the Jupiterian giving out of abundance part, but it is understanding Venusian win-win relationships that I have trouble with. Since one gives in a relationship, and I wasn’t getting back what I needed, I was adding the Jupiterian giving into the relationship mix, and hence giving much more than was needed in order to sustain something that was essentially one-sided, and eventually causing a burn-out emotionally and energetically.

After a long desert period, people have recently started trickling back into my life. Now that I know what to look for, I will start paying attention, and try to understand separately the two different ways of giving.

Thank you.

jupiter can only take us to where is natural for us, what is natural to our way of being.

When you say Jupiter can only take us to where is natural to our way of being, you refer to the Sun? So Jupiter basically takes us to where the Sun can thrive. Is that correct?

So, even with Rahu-Jupiter, in the search of purpose, it is the Sun that is being ‘taken on a ride’ to energize the sign and house it’s in. Would that be correct?

So, eventually it’s all about the Sun becoming aware of itself that turns everything around after the age of 50? That ties in with a Chiron return in Western astrology.

The sun is our essence, but it can't find its place as that in the world. So it has to go through a mutative and developmental process. The best version of living that essence is Jupiter. At 50 the age of the sun starts for 50 years and yes, the chiron return. WHen Jupiter is afflited with a bad avastha or delayed by Rahu, there are struggles or delays to the person finding their best way of being.

Thank you. There was an anecdote that triggered that insight.

In trying to understand the Rahu-Jupiter play in my life, I became aware of certain aspects of how it comes about. Since we all like to hear about the experiences of others so we can relate to it, I thought I would share. I hope they will help reduce some of the disappointment, and also encourage others to look beyond that disappointment. There is nothing worse than thinking that there is no purpose to life.

There were three separate incidents following one another in succession in a short time....

The first one was when I started woodworking as a new hobby a few months ago. Going in, I was aware of the ‘big spark’ of Jupiter, and knew it would fizzle out sooner or later. With an Ace on the Saturn card this year, I was aware that it wouldn’t last beyond the year. But I gave it my best, started learning all I can, and trying different pathways within that hobby. Ernst talks about following the Sun’s kingdom, which is what I was doing, oblivious to everything around me.

Unbeknownst to me, a little old South-American lady in her late 70s was observing me. She always brought in some project to finish. She had weak hands and everyone would help her when some strength was required. She had noticed me having fun on the lathe, and after a few days approached my mentor requesting to try it. She had a blast and by the second session was nailing it like a pro.

As expected, my time with that group and perhaps even that hobby is winding up. There is a disappointment attached to it. But seeing this little old lady’s face lit up with the fire of enthusiasm within, was well worth the journey into Rahu.

The second incident happened when I started archery as another hobby couple months ago. I am enjoying it, and since there is no ‘big spark’, I hope it will be a long-term thing. I kept thinking of Jupiter as the arrow that the Celestial Archer has released. As I watched my arrows doing weird things and yet hitting the target, everyone was joining in on my laughter and jokes, as in my head I compared my previous experiences of stumbling around in the darkness of Rahu, and yet somehow Jupiter’s grace bringing me deep wonderful experiences that I had never even dreamt about.

The third incident happened a few days ago on the Full Moon in Virgo. I am in a transition period with my life, and hence unsure about whether I want to go back to what I used to do in the past. When an opportunity came to check something out with relation to that, the reaction was a big ‘yes’ followed by ‘not sure’. To follow the ‘yes’ meant travelling 4 hours away by car. The transits showed that travel was inevitable, so I decided to follow the inspiration, keep an open mind, and not put too many expectations.

As expected, the inspiration was only a carrot on a stick. I found myself in a tourist town, and was advised to take a day-tour of the island off the mainland the next day. That night I found myself walking down a 1 kilometre (0.62 miles) long pier extending into the ocean on a full moon night. Coincidence, or complete alignment with the transits?

Next day, I had the most joyful day. The tour guide was great and knowledgeable with the wild habitat on the island, and the tour companions were wonderful. The island I visited was absolutely wonderful and unique in its own way. It used to belong to the indigenous people until a couple hundred years ago. I love the philosophy of the indigenous people in this country, where they have lived with the land for thousands of years until the ‘white fella’ came and uprooted them. Their Dreamtime Stories reflect the same stories from any other culture. Their beliefs in the sacred business of men and the sacred business of women is something that is close to my heart. Unfortunately, the tribes are wary, and rightfully so, of strangers, and keep themselves segregated. So, every time I get to connect with them indirectly and hear more about their philosophy and their way of life, is a step further for me.

To add to that, the place I was staying was owned by a couple who were counsellors, and we had a chat about astrology and the difficulties faced by astrologers, quantum physics, and a horde of other non-everyday talk. I would not have been able to put such a wonderful weekend together even if I had meticulously planned it.

If I think of the reason I made the trip, it turned out to be ok, but I don’t know what the next step is, so it is a disappointment in a way. But if I look at what I got in return with the other things that I had not even planned, the joy from those things is way more than the disappointment.

I guess with Rahu, it’s better to go in with no expectations. With Jupiter there, it’s best to have faith and be open to look at the bigger picture or look from a higher perspective to get a better view. Who knows how many people we influence daily without knowing it, just as I know about the many people who have influenced me without them even knowing it.
