Hi @ernst ,

Maybe you have covered this somewhere, I wanted to know why some avasthas happen via aspect while others don't. For instance, Jupiter delights Sun and Mars via aspect, but doesn't delight Moon via aspect. Wanted to understand the logic behind this so that it's easier to infer if the avasthas are there or not when looking at the charts.

Hi

These are based on rules of how avasthas are formed, which is dependent on friendships among planets.

Any planet can be delighted by its friend through

  1. Conjunction
  2. Aspect by that friend
  3. being in rasi of that friend

Additionally, Jupiter delights every planet with whom it is conjunct, irrespective of friendship relation

In your example:

Jupiter delights Sun and Mars by aspect because its a friend to Sun and Mars. But Jupiter is not a friend to Moon, hence no delight by aspect to Moon

@rajan Thanks a lot! I just revisited the planetary relationships table and it all makes sense now. Thanks once again for helping out!
