I came across this course about 2 weeks ago and it has already started to change my life. First of all, thanks to Ernst for putting up all this wisdom in such a beautiful course. As I was going through my worst avasthas(Saturn conjunct Moon, Saturn starving Sun), I felt a level of self-compassion never felt before. I felt understood.

I have three questions around whether an Avastha is present in my chart or not -

1. Saturn starving Mars - I have Saturn at 15 degrees in Aquarius and Mars at 1 degree in Pisces. While in different houses, they are only 16 degrees apart.

a) Will this count as a conjunction?

b) Is the 'Saturn starving Mars' avastha active? Or is it a case of being grey rather than black n white?

2. Mars shaming Jupiter - The handout says "Mars shames Jupiter when Jupiter and Mars are in the 5th...". Does this mean that both Mars and Jupiter need to be conjunct in the 5th house or either one in 5th house activates this avastha? I have Mars in the 5th and Jupiter in 11th.

3. Mars shaming Mercury - Same as previous one. In video, Ernst mentions ''This happens when Mars and Mercury in 5th..). Does this mean that both Mars and Mercury need to be conjunct in the 5th house or either one in 5th house activates this avastha? I have Mars in the 5th and Mercury in 6th.
