Hi Ernst and group – in Video #66 you don’t mention the result of Venus in her own sign conjunct the debilitated Sun.  I’m thinking the balance of power would shift to Venus and so the person would be able to have long-term relationships provided there was much room for autonomy and they could keep their bossy parental mind in check.  What please have you found?

Blessings, Julli

Obviously Ernst should answer this, and hopefully he will. Until then, and for what it´s worth:

No, Venus does not fair well with the Sun. It gets agitated. You can learn more about that in the Mastering the Lajjitaadi avasthas course.

Basically: A false idea what compatibility means. Not realizing that it´s about being complementary, not that your partner should be a copy of yourself, sharing the exact same values and even habits. Intolerance with your partner. Like a vegan not accepting the idea of their partner eating meat. Having far too many and unrealistic "icks", basically.

Venus strives for fair trade, 50/50-type of relationships. But Sun wants to create a kingdom, based on who he is. So Venus starved by the Sun is a Venus that wants to create a kingdom and forgets about the 50/50-principle. Meaning that the partner, to a degree, is seen as it´s subordinate, or a guest in his kingdom.

@staffan Sun in Libra and kingdom? Throw into it low shadbala Sun and you can look at a kingdom in movie 😉 I have Sun (bad shadbala) Venus Mercury in Libra. Ernst is right, my Venus helps me in relationships. I have never treated my partners „my way or highway”. Wish I did sometimes, lol

@omanis I don´t think it has to show in that way though. For example having many "icks", being intolerant and picky - in an irrational way - when it comes to the partner.

@staffan Well I have Ketu in Pisces, so maybe it’s „all good, don’t care” is mitigating what you see with Sun Venus.

@staffan Thanks Staffan!  Totally agree. Love your example! Things get interesting when the sun is debilitated and consequently isn’t the boss anymore or does a poor job.  Both my husband (of 40 years - he was previously married) and I have this combination, his in Sagittarius, mine in Libra with Rahu - he’s an omnivore and I’m vegan, he thinks he and his is the right way, and I just want everyone to get along…

Sun in libra is more inclined to let go of their kingdom for relationships sake. so yes, in this case, better partnering ability.

@ernst But... Venus is still starved and agitated, right? So it must be a mixed bag?

@staffan Absolutely, in my experience. But the extra strength given to Venus by being in her own sign helps me contend with the agitation, starvation, and trepidation when I hold my own and say “No“ to the powers that be.

Yes, sun venus is never ideal.

@ernst.   I’ve been thinking about this for a couple days and last night had this dream: my husband and I were in a car going down a steep hill into an intersection. I was in the passenger seat, he was in the backseat, and no one was in the driver seat! How’s that for an example of a debilitated Sun?!  I finally managed to get into the driver seat to step on the brake before we got to the intersection but it was really hard = Venus doesn’t want to have to be the King.

Then I picked 3 Lenormand cards on this topic this morning: Birds, Fox, Broom.  I interpreted this as fox/crafty clever, birds/talking, broom/gets the job done!

Thank you and thank you for these brilliant videos – what a difference they make in chart interpretation!

@sattvala Venus manifesting as the vehicle obviously. Great story and hopefully a great experience too, if it helps you (and your husband) to get aboard this theme.

My mother’s chart had this. I don’t know her time but a first glance at her chart seems pretty great. All planets in exaltation, mulatrikona, or own rasi except Jupiter in Aries and Sun in Libra with Venus. She became a drug addict due to pressure from a boyfriend. She made awful decisions after the addiction started. She desperately wanted to be a part of someone else’s kingdom and for someone else to save her. She went from one abusive relationship to the next. She tried to take her own life multiple times until she died of lung cancer. You would think she had a bad moon but it’s exalted without any damaging aspects. The real blemish is its lord Venus and Sun in Libra. The starvation of the Sun made its very mild aspect on Saturn overtake it in ucha bala as well which is why I think she couldn’t ever kick the addiction.

@karinia that is a very sad and difficult life indeed. What type of yogas does she have in the chart? Any kemadruma yogas?

@nkan I don’t know her time. She was born Oct 4, 1963 in Freeport, TX. She was in prison for some time so I’m sure she had bondage yoga from jaimini. I wish I had saved her letters because she had very unique handwriting that was special to her.

@karinia Hypothetically - if her lagna was Sag, so if the birth time is around 12pm, she would have had two bondage yogas (Mars - Ketu & Moon - Rahu), on top of that she would have had a Kemadruma - Ketu and Rahu alone in the 2nd and 8th. The same would happen with a Gemini Lagna.

From a PAC perspective yes, the Moon itself is strong, however Rahu is in Cancer. The lord of the Moon - Venus - is in bad shape, despite being in own sign. In the case of a Gemini Lagna, Venus would be shamed by the Sun, by being in the 5th house. It is also combust.

@karinia what a very sad story – how have you managed? Thank you for giving us your mother’s birth info. One of the most useful concepts I have learned from Ernst over these nearly 30 years is from his “Cards of Truth“ where planets are analyzed as conjunct if they are ruled by the same planet even though in separate signs.  In your mother‘s case were she to have been born before 10 AM her Moon would have been in Aries with Jupiter, and because Mars is in Scorpio you can read them as conjunct. After 10 AM her Moon would be in Taurus, so “conjunct” Sun & Venus in Libra, Venus’s other sign.  This would also make Saturn conjunct Ketu, both being in Saturn–ruled signs: problems maintaining boundaries, discipline, resistance/“don’t”.
