Hello Ernst and all,
I would like some clarification on Argala and the Nodes. In your Jaimini Sutra audio #2 you discuss Argala and its blockage so basically 2/12, 11/3, 4/10 and 9/5. You said that Ketu and Rahu contribute toward the number but not the strength. The example in the audio was let's say we have Pisces Lagna. We have Moon and Ketu in Aries the 2nd house and Saturn in Acquarius the 12th house. I would conclude that the Argala 2nd house Aries has 2 Moon and Ketu vs the 12th house, the obstruction, has one Saturn so Saturn is not going to obstruct the 2nd house Argala because the 2nd house has more in number than the 12th house
But in the audio you said since Saturn in Acquarius is a stronger planet than the Moon in Aries, it will obstruct the Moon and Ketu Argala in Aries even though Aries has 2 and Acquarius has only 1
Could you clarify this for me? I just want to make sure i understand this subtle nuance in interpreting the Nodes and Argala. My questions are:
1. Are we saying stronger and less in the obstruction house can still obstruct like the above example?
2. What about weaker and more in the obstruction house will they also obstruct?
3. What if you have weaker and more in the Argala house, will that win over stronger and less in the obstruction house like the above example?
It would appear #1 and #3 contradict each other....
Thanks!

Hi
Firstly, yes the rule is: to not obstruct the Argala, the virudha sign has to be
- first: less in number of grahas in the house (including nodes) AND
- second: has to be weaker sign than argala sign as per first source of strength
1. Are we saying stronger and less in the obstruction house can still obstruct like the above example?
Yes
2. What about weaker and more in the obstruction house will they also obstruct?
Yes
3. What if you have weaker and more in the Argala house, will that win over stronger and less in the obstruction house like the above example?
No, coz the virudha house is still stronger. So the obstruction still happens
It would appear #1 and #3 contradict each other....
They don't. Coz you need less and weaker both in obstruction house to make it unable to obstruct.
Preferably always start with the number -> then only when the number of grahas is smaller -> check the strength -> if the rasi is weaker too, only then the obstruction cannot happen
Hope it clarifies
