It does not automatically destroy if the lord is of the same strength tier, it reduces, if it reduces more than the strength of the yoga planet, then the yoga is pretty ineffective.

@ernst hi Ernst,

For Scorpio Ascendant:

  • Mars is in the 1st
    • Mars has 11.5+ and 3.8-.
    • Sun influences to 6.2+, Moon influences to 0.5+, Jupiter influences to 1.0+.
    • Saturn influences to 2.3-, Venus influences to 7.2-, Mercury influences to 2.5-.
  • Moon/Mercury/Rahu are conjunct in 10th
    • Moon has 0.8+, Mercury has 5.9+/3.9-, Rahu has 9.5+.
    • Mars influences to 2.0+, Jupiter influences to 0.6+.
  • Sun is in 9th
    • Sun has 9.5+, Mars influences to 4.0+, Jupiter influences to 0.6+.
    • Saturn influences to 3.6-.
  • Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct in 7th
    • Jupiter has 1.0+ and Saturn has 3.8-.
    • Sun influences to 1.5+, Moon influences to 0.3+, Mars influences to 11.0+.
    • Venus influences to 12.1- and Mercury influences to 1.2-.

Am I right in concluding:

  • Mars forms a stained yoga.
    • This is because it Mars as a neutral has more positive influence than negative.
    • Mars' influence alone is stronger than its evil influences.
  • Moon (9th Lord in 10th, yogakaraka) forms a stained yoga.
    • Moon cannot do so on its own accord because Mercury (strongest evil planet) trashes Moon.
    • Rahu helps produce a stained yoga.
    • Mars and Jupiter cannot really do much because they do not have enough positive influence compared to Mercury.
  • Sun (10th Lord in 9th, yogakaraka) forms a stained yoga because of Saturn's influence.
    • Sun alone forms this yoga as it can resist Saturn's influence.
    • Mars can support this yoga as it has greater positive influence than Saturn.
    • Jupiter cannot support as it's influence is mediocre.
  • Jupiter (2nd strongest trine lord) obstructs Saturn (weakest evil planet). However, Jupiter cannot form yoga because Venus (2nd strongest evil planet) trashes Jupiter.
    • Jupiter does not have enough positive influence to surpass Venus' influence alone.
    • The positive influence of Mars alone cannot surpass the negative influence of Venus.

Some unrelated questions to the chart:

  • In the video for Scorpio Ascendant in the Yogakarakas and Nature of House Lords course, you mentioned Tom Cruise had a yoga with Saturn (4th Lord) opposite Moon (9th Lord) because Saturn itself had greater positive influence than negative.
    • Would you apply this same principle to Mercury in the above instance as a maraka (8th/11th Lord) to not destroying the yoga with Moon? Or would it not apply because Mercury is purely evil?
  • Do you apply positive/negative influences cumulatively, or on a like-for-like basis in terms of strength?

Thank you!

@fkaecho

btw, I was looking at your chart since your birth info was there, but I didn't save it, so I don't have it, in case that bothered you at all.

i remember counting 5 dharma-karma yogas in your chart, including mars opposite jupiter as one. also, ketu is forming yoga since it is opposite 9lord moon...but I did notice that all of your yogas are influenced by Saturn or Mercury, but didn't really look very closely at them.

one thing im curious about with yogas is the actual experience of the person. it seems to me that having 5 dharma-karma yogas that are being disrupted in some way would make for some challenges.

if you are interested in sharing, im wondering if you have any experiences in your life that you think correspond to your dharma-karma yogas and their possible hinderances by mercury/saturn? do you feel that you have inspiration in life? or that you are actively following your dharma?

@j0sh4rp3 hi Josh,

I’m far from enlightened and super inspired all the time. I have struggled  with depression and anxiety since I was quite young.

What I can say is that everyone tells me how surprising it is that I’ve done as much as I have considering how dysfunctional my upbringing was. I’m not sure if this is something to expect with dharma yogas or even stained / flawed yoga.

Let me know if you want more detailed info.

No, 11th won't destroy the 9th lords yoga as they are both the same strong, so in that case, you modify the yoga based on strengths of the planets.
