In one of the previous topics a question was raised about having good yogas but poor avasthas. Ernst replied saying yogas give effects but avasthas give happiness.
However, what if the yogas or bad, but avasthas are strong what is the outcome?
(ie: John Lennon had strong Venus avasthas but Venus is an enemy poorly aspecting Jupiter in the yoga considerations)
How can I better understand how to differentiate these two considerations?

Thank you!
Yogas give effects so one is going to have wealth for example. But bad avasthas gives the psychological impact. One is going to have wealth, but one might be a miserable person with bad avasthas. Two different things. One is the concrete reality and the other is the psychological impact.

I pulled up John Lennon's chart from Kala and i see his Venus is in Virgo debilitated. Venus is his 7th Lord in the 6th House. That implies to me there is friction in marriage, divorce or separation as the 6th house is the house of divorce, i believe. Or he could be attracted to mates who maybe too conflicting. As I read about his life, he had lots of ups and downs with mates...
I wanted to add one more comment to the above. Just because Venus is debilitated in the Rasi does not always mean the individual will not be able to experience a good relationship as Venus is the karaka for relationship/partnership. You have to look at the vargas to confirm that. My brother has a debilitated Venus in the Rasi but his D-9 which is an important chart for a man and Venus is the primary planet there, his Venus is exalted. His D-7 Venus is in its own house in Taurus with Mercury. He has a very solid, happy marriage that I could tell...
