dear @ernst

I was wondering if for a mahapurusha yoga to happen, the planet needs to be alone in it's own or exaltation Rashi in a kendra house?

Hi Ramin,

It depends on the yoga. In the "Yogas of Character" course Ernst goes into the details of this.

Sometimes a planet with the exalted/MT/OS planet will make the yoga void (for example, when the Moon is with Venus). Sometimes it can just indicate more work until the person can actually fully reap the rewards of that planet (for example, when Mars is with Saturn).

Hi Ernst,

What if it is a parivarthana, as opposed to conjunction?

For ex:  if Jupiter is exalted in 4th house but has parivarthana yoga with moon? And what if it is a dainya yoga (moon is in 12th)?

Does this still qualify as Hamsa yoga? Are the effects felt throughout life, or in Jupiter mahadasha? antardashas?

Finally does it help if the Jupiter has deep exaltation? Retrograde?

Can you please help me understand the subtleties?

Regards,

Anand

@anand sorry for the off topic...

What does dainya yoga signify? I am curious as my Moon is in 12th house, as so does may daughter. (I havent done the yogas course yet...)

Hi, no problem....

dainya parivarthana yoga is one of the three parivarthana yogas (maha, kahala and dainya).

This is when a dushtana lord and a non-dusthana lord interchange the houses. Like in my example, Jupiter, as 12th lord for aries lagna is in Cancer (4th house) and moon is in 12th house (pisces), this causes dainya parivarthana yoga between 4th and 12th houses.

In general, the non-dusthana house (4th in this example) is challenged due to this type of interchange, and the native has to experience the effects of anchallenged 4th house.

Regards,

Anand

@anand oh, I didnt get you also need interchange for dainya yoga, and that it can be with any planet, not just moon.

This actually does not sound that great as it seemed at first sight. (Luckily, I dont have an interchange with dusthana lord.)

Many thanks for the explanation. ????
