Hi Ernst, hi all,

Do you think that the dieties given by Jaimini are implementable to a western type people who don't have much experience with Hindu culture? Apart from the Sun where we get Siva and yoga, which is familiar to many now. For the other dieties what type of spiritual work can we recommend apart from the mantras. My concern is that not many people want to sing mantras nowadays.

For instance, I have a client who has Mars and Venus in the 12th from svamsa. Which will indicate Laksmi and Skanda(Kartikeya). I read that Laksmi devotees do a full Moon ritual where they invite nabors and sing songs and mantras. This is a bit difficult to recommend for a client. However, does that mean that any kind of full moon rituals will be beneficial for this person? Can we recommend some modalities of such spiritual works? For Mars and Skanda I cannot find specific spiritual works apart from mantras, however if we consider that he is a war chief with angels by his side, can we say that the person who has such a position has better connection with angels and angelic meditations, works, rituals can be beneficial for him?

Anyone who has experience with this technique, can you share your experience and what type of practices do you recommend according to the different dieties?

Thanks

These are good questions and I'm sure Ernst could offer the clearest perspective.

I myself am starting to see that Ketu, or a Ketu-Sun conjunction, especially when in Virgo or Pisces, could be a Jesus Karaka.

Not sure about other traditions' versions of Mars(Skanda) or Venus(Lakshmi)

Mother Mary would probably be more akin to Parvati(Moon), especially in the form of Gauri, and not Lakshmi and Venus. When Moon is the main bhakti planet, "Ave Maria" is a good mantra or feminine purity and devotional surrender in the heart.

Archangel Michael could help as a warrior archetype.

Ernst has often emphasized that it is the attitude and approach we take, along with the types of practices that facilitate those, that we should take from the planets and deities that are shown as the bhakti and moksha indicators in the chart, and not always the just literal deities or the specific pujas or japa to them.

If they aren't spiritual, Ve in 12th is Ve stuff: romance, luxuries, sex, alcohol. Plenty of people worship those!!

I like to think of Ma in 12th as a spiritual warrior type of devotion sometimes.

Laura B mentioned to me Me can be Zen like in the 12th. Me is gyanic in its higher nature, so self-inquiry practices that are non emotional.

In the Jaimini course I explain the essence of the deities, so yes, for sure, this is applicable to hindus. Its a matter of finding some technique that follows the essence of the planet who's essence is explained as a deity by Jaimini.

Just find the equivalent of a deity in European pre-Christian pantheons. Here are some examples:

Mars - Mars, Ares, Belatucadros

Venus - Venus, Aphrodite, Freyja

Mercury - Mercury, Hermes, Odin

Sun - Helios, Sol, Sunne, Belenos

Moon - Selene, Diana, Hecate, Mani

Jupiter - Jupiter, Zeus, Thor, Taranis

Saturn - Saturn, Kronos, Freyr
