Hi Ernst/others,

Do we also analyze Rahu's and Ketu's lords to see if they are auspiciously placed in a varga (according to Jaimini principles) - aspect of Ju, Me, Ld ?

Will only the dignity of the lord of Rahu and Ketu help in healing the Ra and Ke, or will an auspiciously placed lord also make a difference ?

Am not sure this answers your question but, am of the opinion that a full/holistic understanding of someone's chart is necessary to better understand how Rahu/Ketu work for that person. Mostly, what I've been focusing on are the person's ascendant, foundational Nabhasa yogas (especially Akriti yogas), Yoga of characters and ShadBala/Lajjitaadi Avasthas (with a special focus on the dispositors of Rahu and Ketu). While I have not perfected any technique, I've noticed a general theme tends to emerge and corresponding to Rahu/Ketu axis.

I consider the vargas to be a magnifying glass into one area of life, always keeping in mind they don't replace / overrule the D1 but add subtlety to the main chart's analysis. For Rahu/Ketu, Ernst had mentioned D12 and D60 as being the most important ones to look at as it relates to parents/ancestry and overall effect (as in the "ultimate magnifier") which can also be tricky due to being so time sensitive.

Thanks for your answer. It's a good way to think about it, but my question was do you give importance to Jaimini aspect influences to the placement of lord for Ra, Ke.

I will admit to having a personal interest in this question. I have Rahu's lord Sa (Ra in Cp) with Me-OH in Ge and aspected by Ju-MT in Sg in D-12 and in Ju mahadasha. I feel like off-late I have got full acceptance for what I am from my parents.

I was wondering if it has anything to do with Ju and Me being active. And a good jaimini aspect to Ketu/Rahu's lord can help anyone in the Ke-Ra journey pertaining to that varga.

@scoobydoo ok I understand better now. I don’t personally look at Rasi aspects for Rahu and Ketu but mostly at the Lajjitaadi Avasthas of the Lords. Also, I just started experimenting reading the chart from Rahu and Ketu to look at planets in the 4th and 10th from it. As per Ernst’s Healing Rahu and Ketu class, those are balancing factors. That being said, Rasi aspects are important for all “concrete manifestation” things so I wouldn’t be surprised if those were efficient to see how various influences may concretely manifest.

I have been studying the Nabhasa yogas (especially Akriti Yogas). To be honest, I can't really get into those Akriti Yogas much. I just was looking at maybe 30 or so charts of people I know using that method and found maybe only 5 charts that I felt really resonated with it. Have you found the Akriti Yogas useful? Perhaps I just need to practice on more charts! I know Ernst speaks highly of them which I is why I studied them, but I feel maybe more inclined to look into Jaimini to also determine who a person is.

@scott-m-19 I have not done a good job at looking at those lately. Mostly because I spend so much time on Ra/Ke, the outer planets and the Lajjitaadi avasthas that I've skipped those. I find it hard to derive concrete meanings from them, that is my main issue I think. When I'll be quicker at analyzing a chart, I'll (re)integrate them. I do find mine to resonate but it's a rather nice one so I'm happy to take it ????but I have limited experience using them on other people's charts.

Scott and Mona, i have the Shakti Yoga with Jupiter as the ending planet in my 10th house. Shakti means power, energy, capability ect... My mind is incredibly active, always thinking of the next thing i have to get done. It is hard for me to sit still and relax. Always have a project whether home or work to get done. I might be doing something and in my mind i am already thinking of 5 other things that i need to get done. Very active mind/personality and i sure can argue too at work because of the kind of work i do. When i took the Yoga of character class and test it on my chart and found out Shakti is my yoga, i said that explains it all. I could not agree more...

I'm going to continue to explore the akriti yogas. All the other yogas in that coarse I find useful right away, especially if there is confluence between one of the self planets or asc/asc lord.
